This document provides instructions for submitting process capability analysis (PCA) data to analyze a key product characteristic (KPC) for a part. It specifies that the supplier is to:
1) Enter measurement data for the KPC in the provided table, including the name, units of measure, specification limits, and at least 30 measurements.
2) View the control charts and capability chart tabs to analyze the process capability.
3) Continue submitting measurement data every 30 pieces and maintain records until the process is in statistical control with a Cpk over 1.50, then use sampling to maintain control.

and the feature being analyzed. Enter the upper and lower specification limits. Enter all data in the data table starting in the first column and completing each column before going to the next. Never enter zeros or they will be counted as data. Use the Clear Contents command or the delete key to clear selected cells of unwanted data. Displays X and Moving Range charts based on Data Entry Page. Displays Capability Chart and Statistics based on Data Entry Page. 2 nd SPC Submission Process Capability Analysis Supplier shall maintain records of all Key Product Characteristic (KPCs) measurements and submit the data and Capability Analysis, including calculation of Cpk as follows. 1 st SPC Submission will accompany SPAP submission if Supplier has sufficient data. . If less than 30 pieces, supplier will submit the actual measurements for the parts shipped (most likely 2), 1st Submission of SPC analysis shown below will be submitted when 30 pieces have been manufactured.. Supplier may use EMDs Excel Workbook (this form), equivalent in-house forms or other software. EMD SQ 1005 - PCA Originated 9/15/05 Rev: New 9/15/05 -- J. First 30 pieces (after removing assignable causes) Process Capability Requirement from EMD Supplier Product Approval Process (EMD SPAP). This is an optional form for reporting to the above requirement. Suppliers may use their own forms and/or commercially available SPC software to generate the equivalent information. Process Capability Report Form Information Page See the Worksheet Tabs at the bottom of this sheet. Next 30 pieces (include assignable causes, even if parts are scrapped) Continue every 30 pieces until process is in control with Cpk 1.50 or higher then maintain records for EMD review as needed. Supplier may now use an appropriate sampling plan for recording data and to maintain process control. Notify SQE whenever process goes out of control. SQE may waive or modify this requirement for non-normal distributions and/or processes that are proven not capable, but controlled by 100% inspection. EMD may designate other specific data be maintained and submitted in addition to the KPC data. SPC submissions are to be made to the SQE via e-mail. 1 st SPC Submission Measure (Unit) = Upper Specification:. Lower Specification:.
