Focus Skills : Listening and Speaking Level : Average Age : 7 8 years old Time : 60 Minutes Materials : Song ; We going to The zoo , worksheets Technique : Question and Answer , Listening technique Aim : At the end of this lesson student will be able to : 1) Listen to important key answers based on the song 2 ) Able to listen to, follow, and give instructions. 3 ) Able to listen to and demonstrate understanding of oral texts by: (a) asking and answering questions with guidance.
Procedures : 1) Teacher gives students an exercise to be answered and gives a few explanations on how to start the activity. 2 ) Students need to work in a group which consist at least 3 members in a group 3) Students are given a chance to listen to a song attentively and at the same time answering the exercise given. 4 ) Students can only listen to that song just for once. 5) Students need to name what are the animals doing in the zoo and specifying what are the animals involved in the zoo based on what they heard earlier. 6) Students work collaboratively among their group members in answering the questions by listening to that song. 2
7) Students will be given the answers right after they finish the exercise and teacher will correct the errors made by the students in answering the questions. 8) Students give their feedback based on the activity for that day Variation : This activity can be used for Malay Language subject or Science. This is because, it requires the students to identify a few things by just listening attentively to a recorded material, for example a song and answering correctly the questions given to them. It is clearly quite helpful for teaching Science specifically in teaching the animals classes such as herbivore, omnivore or carnivore. While in Malay Language Subject, the teacher can help the students in enhancing their listening skills when it comes to grammar aspect. The teacher can use the song as a medium for the student to identify what are the nouns( kata nama) , pronouns ( kata ganti nama ) , Verbs ( Kata kerja ) that stated in the song.

Procedures : 1) Teacher gives students a maze to be solved. 2 ) Students are still assigned in a group. 3) Students need to appoint one of their friends in the group to be as a blind person who need to listen to the instructions given by his/er friends with his/er eyes closed 4) Students who closed his/er eyes need to find the way out which is the correct animals with the correct match. 5) Students need to identify the correct animals with the aid of instructions from his/er friends 5) Listening and speaking skills are both integrated in this activity since it involves fully participation from the students in finding the way out by using the correct instructions and directions. 5) Students work collaboratively among their group members in solving the maze. 4
7) Students will be given the answers right after they finish the exercise and teacher will correct the errors made by the students. 8) Students give their feedback based on the activity for that day Variation : This activity can be used for Living Skills subject. This is because; it requires the students to solve the maze by matching the correct object with its partner. It is quite helpful for teaching living skills especially in teaching the tools used for gardening. The students can understand more when they have this kind of activity since it teaches them on how to solve the maze and at the same time to find the correct matches for every picture with aids of the instructions from their friends.
