Providing fully integrated MCM capabilities
Mine Counter Measures Products
Our mission
We aspire to earn respect and recognition for our dedica-
tion to providing innovative, reliable naval systems that
ensure optimal performance at sea. By utilising and inte-
grating our technology and experience in hydroacoustics,
command & control, navigation, simulation and systems
integration, we offer world-class naval systems that will
further reinforce our leading position with respect to
technologies and solutions for top performance in coastal
and blue waters.
Our philosophy
Success depends on customer satisfaction. We achieve
our goals by actively listening to our customers and truly
understanding their needs, and then translating those
needs into successful products and solutions.
Skilled people are the key to our success and we give
our customers the tools they need to succeed. We work
together in a global network of knowledge, guided by our
values, giving rise to innovation and world-class perform-
ance.

MCM C2 Tactical System
MCM C2 Tactical System supports all phases of mine hunting and minesweeping, from
planning, performance prediction and preparation, via the operation to report and debrief.
To obtain effective MCM operations, MCM C2 is tailored to these tasks by means of ef-
fective integration of the vessels sensors, effectors and capabilities.
The MCM C2 system architecture is based on LAN and open SW solutions including
COTS-based multifunction consoles and cabinets.
Mine Warfare Data Centre
The MICOS Mk 2 - Mine Warfare Data Centre (MWDC) supports MCM operations. The
Centre serves MCM missions dispersed over different levels of tension, and often long
time intervals, and optimises the efciency of the mine warfare operations.
Planning of national Sea Lanes of Communication are according to NATO standards. Rapid
Environmental Assessment (REA) supports military operations based on environmental
information from selected areas. A MWDC is the ofcial authority producing and publish-
ing Mine Warfare Pilots. Route- and environmental data for Exercise- and Joint Force
operations are other certied products generated by the MWDC.

The MCM C2 offers the following features:
Capability to interface the operator and the sensors, to plan and control the MCM mission, process mine-objects, manage
large route survey databases as well as repositories for mine-libraries and digital sea charts and to do tactical calculations.
Close integration to the Mine-hunting Sonars capability to detect and classify a mine.
Close integration to the Navigation and Dynamic Positioning Systems capability to calculate and present the precise posi-
tion and to keep the vessel automatically in the wanted position or track.
Close integration to the Underwater Systems, i.e. the ROV/AUV and Hydroacoustic Positioning Systems capability to
localize, position and neutralize the mine

AGATE
The AGATE reproduces the acoustically generated noise of any ship by emulating
the original noise-generation processes. This is especially relevant for low frequen-
cies where energy levels are high and distinctive.
AGATE provides exible solutions for new and existing minesweeping platforms
with several alternative congurations. AGATE can be towed behind the mine-
sweeper, or AGATE can be installed in remotely controlled drones sweeping ahead
of the mother vessel.
HUGIN Mine Reconnaissance System
The HUGIN MRS is capable of performing high-speed surveys with excellent navi-
gation and sensor data quality down to an operating depth of 1000 meters. The
vehicle can be operated in either supervised or fully autonomous mode.
In mine hunting operations, HUGIN MRS can do forward detection, classifcation
and localisation of mines, and followed by mine neutralisation by MINESNIPER this
offers full organic MCM capacity. REA, deep mine hunting, covert reconnaissance,
long endurance and under ice capacity makes the AUV a MCM capacity in line with
MO 2015.
MINESNIPER
The MINESNIPER is a low cost, high performance mine disposal system, utilising
an expandable lightweight ROV-type weapon for rapid and effcient target iden-
tication and destruction. It has proven effectiveness against modern mines with
insensitive munitions (being bottom or moored mines) in shallow or deep waters.
The weapon is guided towards the target by use of an underwater acoustic track-
ing system and/or an MCM sonar. This fexibility makes it possible to operate the
MINESNIPER from any vessel of opportunity, providing an organic mine disposal
capability. For safety reasons the warhead section, being shaped charge or SAP, can
be stored separately.

Kongsberg Gruppen (Kongsberg) primarily targets offshore, merchant marine and
defence markets. The bulk of the Group's activities address the international arena,
with Europe, the USA, the Middle East and Asia as the most important markets.
Kongsberg has two business areas: Kongsberg Maritime mainly addresses the
offshore industry and merchant marine, while Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace's
operations are directed at the defence and aerospace markets.
Kongsberg has facilities world
wide and has approx. 4 200
employees, some 800 of whom
work outside Norway.
The Group is one of Norway's
largest industrial engineering
communities, and its range
of products is characterised by
a high technology content.
Kongsberg's products have to
function under the most
demanding conditions as they
are used from ocean depths
down to 11 000 metres and
up to solar panels on space
probes that spend years hutling
through outer space.
Solid competence reduces cost
Kongsberg has consistently recog-
nised the importance of supporting its
products and systems with professional
training.
We tailor our training courses to our
customer's requirements.
Upgrading pays
Product and system upgrades can
improve your system/vessel operations
and reduce overall maintenance costs. We
ensure that existing products and systems
can be extended and/or upgraded to
meet customers' future requirements.
