5.3Language skills to be developed

When we learn a language, there are four skills that we need for complete communication.
When we learn our native language, we usually learn to listen first, then to speak, then

6.2Teachers Objectives

My personal goal is to motivate students to be aware of the need of the language and to
practice and practice until they have reached their goal. Also make sure that learning
English is not a chore for them, but rather a positive learning experience, one that
they will remember for years to come.

In today's society the management of more than one language is considered as a key to
academic, economic, occupational, and scientific success, in some cases, in the field of
social mobility. That is why the Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo offers to all the
schooling community the opportunity to learn English as a Foreign Language, however
learning and practice must respond to the needs and characteristics of the professional that
everyone will unfold.
The student's communication skills developed properly in the foreign language are to meet
the personal and professional actions with responsibly.

7.1 Subjects Methodology
Teaching English to non-English speakers can be an intimidating situation, However,
educating students can be a very rewarding experience if we go into the classroom prepared
with lots of activities. Experiment with different ideas until you find what works for your
students.
Touchstone offers book-based classroom course as well as online. It is entirely aligned to
the scope and sequence, as well as the learning outcomes, of the Touchstone classroom
materials and, in particular, the Students Book. Learning outcomes, or objectives, state
what the student will be able to do on completion of a lesson: they reflect the specific
language points or skills which students will understand and successfully demonstrate at
the end of the learning process.
This material takes learners through carefully structured and graded activity sets. An
activity set is a group of activities made up of specifically staged tasks. This technique -
known as scaffolding provides students with the building blocks they need in order to
develop their language ability in gradual steps, incorporating the key stages of illustration,
induction, and interaction. The learning outcomes are based on the grammar, vocabulary
and can do statements implicit in each activity set.
Multimedia exercises provide a more varied and engaging learning experience. Students
are motivated and in charge of their own learning experience. Audio and video role play
activities provide opportunities for autonomous self-study.

7.2 Evaluation

Diagnostic Assessment: Happens at the beginning of the level, allow the teacher to find
out how much the students know and where to begin the new period.
Formative Assessment: Happens during the lesson, allow the teacher to do a feedback
while the class is still running. Allows teachers to see how successfully students are
progressing in relation to objectives. Can tell teachers where to go next (review, spend
more time, move on)
Summative Assessment: Can happen at the end of a lesson, unit, semester or school year.
Also allows teachers to compare student performances to objectives and standards. Tells
the teacher whether a student has mastered the objective.
