Epoxy Floor Coating


Description
Kanfloor SL1000 is graded aggregates bound in
a pigmented epoxy resin binder. It is designed for use
in industrial area where floor maintenance is required;
it provides a smooth, light-reflective surface. It is
available in a range of standard colours.

Application Method

Surface Preparation
It is essential that Kanfloor SL1000 is applied to
sound, clean and dry surfaces to achieved maximum
bond strength between the substrate and the
flooring system. All dust and debris should be
removed prior to application of the product or its
primer.

New concrete floors
New concrete, or cementitious substrates, should be
at least 28 days old and have a moisture content not
exceeding 4%.

Old Concrete Floors
The old concrete floors are usually eroded and can
have defects like potholes, eroded/damaged
construction/expansion joints, oil soaked in the
concrete floor and uneven profile due to erosion of
concrete caused by traffic over longer periods.

Priming
All surfaces should be primed with Kanflor Primer25
for maximum absorption and adhesion to concrete
surface. The primed surface is reexamined for any
dry patched i.e. the primer has been fully absorbed
by the concrete substrate and there is no film.
These areas have to be reprimed and ensure a
proper film formation.

KANFLOOR SL1000


Mixing

Kanfloor SL1000 flooring is supplied in four pre-
weighed packs (base, hardener, aggregate and
colour pack) which are ready for immediate on-site
use. Mixing should be carried out using either a
forced action mixer. The colour pack should be
added to the base container and mixed for 15-30
seconds, until homogeneous. Then add the hardener
and mix for further 30 seconds, add aggregate pack
slowly into above mixture.


Application
The material should be poured onto the prepared
and primed substrate after completion of 5 minutes
of induction time. It should be spread to the
required thickness using a serrated trowel; with care
taken not to overwork the resin, spreading evenly
and slowly. The material should be rolled, using a
spiked nylon roller to assist air release.

Shelf life
Kanfloor SL1000 has a shelf life of 6 months if kept
in warehouse conditions at 30C in the original,
unopened pack.

Health and safety
Avoid prolonged contact with skin. If material comes
into contact with the eyes, flush with cold water
and obtain medical attention.

Cleaning of Equipments:
Equipments should be cleaned with MTO, Xylene
or Toluene immediately after use.
