Assistant Project Coordinator

This position assists with capital projects including housing and transportation programs, communicates
with members, government and other agencies. Prepares and maintains all required documentation.
Administers NVEs HUD and housing related grants as necessary, assists with future program
development, planning, team building, housing promotion and fund raising.

The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions
on new assignments.

Team: Capital Projects Salary range: $16.50 $18.50 per hour, DOE
Reports to: Capital Projects Coordinator Schedule: 40 hours per week
Salary Status: Non Exempt from Overtime
Responsibilities/Duties:

Manage the Native Village of Eyaks HUD and other related project applications and funds.
Prepares Native Village of Eyaks 1 and 5 year Indian Housing Plan for supervisor review.
Prepares Native Village of Eyaks 1 and five year Annual Performance Report for supervisor
review.
Prepares reports as needed.
Submit monthly-required NVE Housing Program reports to supervisor.
Prepare flyers and other communication material
Research funding sources
Assist with grant submittals
Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of position.
Meet with clients at their homes to review projects and tasks related to housing.
Complete projects as assigned
Carry out transportation administration duties as directed
Provide assistance to Capital Projects Coordinator on transportation projects and programs
Other duties as assigned.

Strong interpersonal, organizational and oral and written communication skills, be detail oriented and
have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Possess the ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals. Possess knowledge of
finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures. Ability to gather data, compile
information, and prepare reports. Applicant must be flexible and be able to analyze and solve
problems with limited supervision. Computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel
and other office applications is a must as well as an ability to work well with NVE teams to provide a
high quality of service to our members. Ability to travel for training as necessary. knowledge of
budgeting and reporting skills. Confidentiality is required for this position. Must have current AK
drivers license.

Experience Requirement:
Successful applicant should have at least one year experience in successful management of a program or
long-term project. Relevant computer experience.

Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Performance standard
Regularly sit for long periods of time to complete tasks.
Regularly bend, crouch, stand, move about to complete work.
Typically lifts 15 lbs to coordinate work.
Regularly manipulate electronic data to gather, input and otherwise coordinate work.
Typically uses office machines such as multi-line phones, faxes, scanners or otherwise communicates,
corresponds and completes these tasks associated with office machines.

Environmental Factors
Majority of work will be completed in an administrative office. Some work to be completed outdoors in
possible inclement weather.
