"his pattern is appropriate for intermediate level sewing. It features inner poc!ets, a
magnetic closure, and a metal buc!le. #ou will also be re$uired to ma!e one buttonhole.

STE$ 6 * !NSTALL TE MA'NET!C SNA$
(a. "a!e & Interior 7ain Panel piece and & of the fleece s$uares that you cut in ,tep
&i. Take the washer from one of the prongs and mark the prong placement with a fabric
marker or chalk, approximately in the center of the Thermolam. Cut small slits at the
marks. The reason that you are using the feece is that it will help to reinforce your fabric
against the pull from the magnetic snap every time you open and shut the clutch.
(b. >n the Interior 7ain Panel piece, ma!e a mar! that is centered, and 34 up from the
bottom of the Interior 7ain Panel.
(c. With the snap washer in the middle of the mark on the Interior ain !anel, mark the
prong placement with a fabric marker or chalk. Cut small slits at the marks.
Helpful Hint: I like to put a dab of Fray Check on the slits that were cut. I feel this helps
the fabric hold up a bit better under the stress of the magnetic snap.
"d. #lide the prongs of the snap through the right side of the Interior ain !anel. !lace
the feece s$uare, then the washer, over the prongs. Close the prongs outward %use
pliers with a piece of scrap fabric over the metal, if you need to&, making sure they lie
fat.
