Perfectly matched aids
TUCKERs range of accessories provides a
wide variety of aids completing the automo-
bile body-in-white.
Efcient quality assurance
Welding results may be affected by exter-
nal factors. This does not necessarily mean
bad welding, but merely signies that upper
or lower limits of dened parameters were
exceeded.
The welding positions affected are marked
immediately after welding by means of a
color coding system. In the subsequent qual-
ity assurance process, the fastening point is
located quickly and efciently.
Testing the right way!
You can choose from a broad range of testing
equipment perfectly adapted to the load on
the respective stud.

TUCKER Technology at its Best: Stud Welding with DCE!
DCE Control and Energy Unit
For the rst time weld energy and stud movement are controlled in real time!
With the new DCE Control and Energy Unit
(Digitally Controlled Energy) the entire weld-
ing process, including all parameters, is mon-
itored and controlled through digital signal
processors (DSPs) in real time.
The stud movement is adjusted electronically
in real time. In the closed loop, an integrated
position measuring system provides con-
stant feedback, with the system responding
immediately and automatically to the chang-
ing geometry of the component (closed loop
control).
TUCKER Technology at its Best: Stud Welding with DCE!
Stud penetration dened
The plunge of the stud into the pool of molten
sheet metal gives a clear indication of the
weld quality. The DCE series provides stud
penetration control, analysis and monitoring.
If necessary, a pre-dened stud penetration
value may be programmed. This is especially
important for T-stud or step stud applications
requiring dened head dimensions.
Adjustable lift height
For each welding program, the lift height may
be programmed to range between 0.6 mm
and 3 mm. Thus, every single application is
perfectly adapted to the welding task.
Everything
under control!
Constant weld time,
independent of wear!
Even though weld splatter is almost entirely
eliminated by controlled stud movement
and weld plunge, ue gases and metal dust
can cause contamination of all components
involved in lift movement of the weld head
and stud.
Nevertheless, all welding is done at a con-
stantly high level of quality. As an added
benet, the service life of all spare parts is
extended signicantly as are the mainte-
nance intervals. Extended residence time
increases availability and reduces efforts
relating to maintenance and spare parts.
The New Operating Panel
Optimum Comfort and Security!
Intuitive Interface
Simple, intuitive, menu-driven Windows in-
terfaces are todays standard for any situa-
tion. Since late 2007, Emhart Teknologies has
been providing a new, state-of-the-art oper-
ating panel for its DCE generation of equip-
ment. High-resolution displays illustrate the
current equipment status and visualize any
available information and data.
Abbreviations, error codes, and similar aids
are things of the past. On the new operat-
ing panel, all information is rendered in plain
text or via common icons.
Software Packages
Programming for steel or aluminum
With the DCE generation of equipment,
users are fully enabled to perfectly adapt
the weld process to their requirements.
Ofine programming
This software turns the operating device
into a full-edged ofine-programming
unit. It is no longer necessary to use a
PC or laptop for data backup or welding
program recovery.
From progress to standard
This TUCKER technology responds to the
increasing role of lightweight construction
methods in the automotive industry. A new
grade of stud welding which also applies
to thin steel sheets (0.6 mm), high-strength
steel, aluminum, magnesium, and many
sandwich materials and alloys.
From experience to leadership
Today, more than 11,000 TUCKER stud weld-
ing systems utilizing a primary modulated
power control unit are used worldwide. This
experience, along with close contacts with
experts in the eld, is a constant source of in-
novative ideas which we have implemented
in the DCE Control and Energy Unit.
Assist features
Products and processes have become
more complex, yet they are supposed to
be managed by a smaller operating and
maintenance staff. Thats where Assist
comes into play.
At the touch of a button, you get all
the required and accurate pieces of
information for the specic welding
equipment parts lists, maintenance
plans, interface drawings, troubleshooting
guides etc. Supported by illustrations and
pictures, all this enables even someone
who is not an expert to handle the stud
welding system in a safe manner not
only, but above all during incidents!
By means of the innovative touch-screen
technology, the size of controls is adapted to
the users current requirements.
The built-in USB interface facilitates the
transfer of rmware, welding programs,
measuring data, and fault latches.
The new
operating panel comes
with different
software packages,
providing the right pro-
gram for your application.
Dirt protection tailor-made
to each weld head
Cleaning is signicantly reduced, main-
tenance scheduling made easier and
maintenance work can be carried out
more swiftly.

Perfectly matched aids
TUCKERs range of accessories provides a
wide variety of aids completing the automo-
bile body-in-white.
Efcient quality assurance
Welding results may be affected by exter-
nal factors. This does not necessarily mean
bad welding, but merely signies that upper
or lower limits of dened parameters were
exceeded.
The welding positions affected are marked
immediately after welding by means of a
color coding system. In the subsequent qual-
ity assurance process, the fastening point is
located quickly and efciently.
Testing the right way!
You can choose from a broad range of testing
equipment perfectly adapted to the load on
the respective stud.
