-Early in the morning while having cup of coffee reading the blogs and checking mails, Client
Program manager came to me with a smiling face.
-I thought that he is going to give a candy to me , very politely he asked me to follow him and
took me to his cabin and showed his screen, when I looked at the screen it was an APACHE
server Bridge failure and when i Looked at the URL it was for the production instance !!! gave
a smile back to him and run to my Desk and Looked into the logs.

-In logs it mentioned that java.memory.outoff lang error,Which gave an thought of Java Heap
Size, Increasing the heap size is not a good idea during working hours.
-I did checked the Services and finally i did restarted the EPMSYSTEM and
EPMSYSTEM(WEBLOGIC).
-Application started and was working fine.All happen in 15 Minutes.
note : this is a temporary solution.
this is not the work around for the said error !!!
Why did this error took place ?
-When ever a user retrieve the huge report.
-When ever traffic of users log in into the application at once.
-When ever they open a large Webform then. Java.outof memory lang error occurs.
Solution for this is to increase the Java heap size of Planning .
1. from Start ->run->regedit and enter.

2. In the registry look for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software->Hyperion
Solutions->HyperionPlanning->HyperionS9Planning.

3. Locate the Xmx and -Xms which are the maximum and minimum heap
respectively.
NOTE: You can also change or add the stack size setting -Xss here as well.
5. These can be changed by right-click-> and select modify.

6. The recommended settings are 512, and 1024m respectively. but we have setup to
2048 and 2048 on XMX and XMS

7. After changing these two setting you will need to stop and start the Hyperion
Planning windows service.
Caution:Increasing the Java Heap size may lead to stop EPMSERVER and will not
restart the server, based on the physical memory we have to increase the Heap size.
