a2DleveleditorfortheSuperMarioBros.franchisethatletsgamerscreatetheirownSMBlevels
usingtheWiiUGamePad.ItsessentiallyagamedesigntoolforSMBsuperfansandburgeoning

Splatoonis easily one of the more unique multiplayer games shown off at E3 2014, which is
surprising considering that its a Nintendo exclusive. Nintendo isnt really known for offering
fantasticonlinemultiplayerofferings,soitwasrefreshingtoseethecompanytakeachanceona
gamelikeSplatoon.Theuseofcoloredpainttosetupdefensiveoroffensivemaneuverswilloffer
tonsofstrategyandtactics,andthefactthatyourcharactercanmorphbetweenahumananda
squidisinsanelyunique.TheWiiUisntreallyknownasamultiplayergamingdestination,butthat
maychangeonceSplatoonreleases.Splatoonissettoreleaseduringthefirsthalfof2015.
13. SunsetOverdrive (XboxOne)
InsomniacGamesSunsetOverdrivewasamajorpresenceatE32014thankstoallofthemarketing
itemslitteredthroughouttheexpohallfloor.Itshouldalsobementionedthatitsoneofthemore
uniquely styled games coming out in 2014. The overthetop action mixed with a zany narrative
thatfeaturesamegacorporationsenergydrinkturninghumansintomutantshelpstosetthisthird
personshooterapartfromthecrowd.Theuseofoutofthisworldparkourandwiregrindingalso
helpsthegameplayofSunsetOverdrivestandoutfromthepack.Ifyouloveridiculousfirepower
and a game that doesnt take itself seriously, then you surely appreciate Insomniacs efforts
inSunsetOverdrive.SunsetOverdriveissettoreleaseonOctober28,2014.
12. TheEvilWithin (Multiplatform)
ShinjiMikamislatestsurvivalhorrortitleissettobeoneofhismostdementedgameplayaffairs
to date. The game may not employ tank controls, but the lack of ammo and other supplies will
keepyouonedgeandlookingfornewwaystokilldemonsthroughouttheentireexperience.The
visuals are verycinematic and so is the gameplay, and there are plenty of jacked up scenes to
experience and evilness to encounter. This game definitely packs an atmospheric feel that will
surely make horror fans happy, so it could potentially make for a great preHalloween gaming

11. OriandtheBlindForest (XboxOne/PC)
Thisbeautifullookingplatformedisntjustacharminglookinggame.Infact,whileinacloseddoor
meetingatE3thegamesdevelopersstressedthatOriisallaboutcontrolsandgameplayfirst,and
then cute visuals second.Ori and the Blind Forestis a challenging platformer that promises to
punishyoulikeaSoulstitleandrewardyouforyourdedicationtothecause.Thenarrativehasnt
beendiscussedatthispoint,butthetalelookstobeanemotionalone.FansofMetroidvaniastyle
gamesshoulddefinitelyputthistitleontheirtodolists.OriandtheBlindForestissettorelease

10. DyingLight (Multiplatform)
Techlandsalternatetakeonthezombiesurvivalgenrewasdefinitelyoneofthemorefuntoplay
experiencesshownoffatE32014.Thefocusonparkourandtacticshelpstosetthisslasherapart
from the studios first zombie game,Dead Island. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop to avoid the
zombiehordeissurprisinglythrilling,andtheopenapproachtoeachmissionwillensurethatno
twoplaythroughsarethesame.ThefactthatDyingLightalsosupports4playercoopisabonus,
and it will surely make for a great community experience once it releases. Dying Lightis set to

9. Alien:Isolation (Multiplatform)
Based on a short demo of this creepy title it appears that Creative Assembly may have finally
perfectedtheartofmakingascaryashellAlienvideogame.Theatmosphereandlackofammo
makeseachmissionattemptafearfuladventurethatwilltweakyoursensesinalloftherightways.
AtalltimesyoufeellikeyourehelplessagainstthelurkingXenomorph,whichwillmakeyoufeel
likeRipleydidaboardtheNostromo.The heavyfocusonstealthmayturnoffgamersthatdont
lovebeingsneaky,buttheoverallexperiencewilldefinitelykeepthehairstandingonthebackof
yourneckuntilyouhitthepowerbuttononyourgamingmachineofchoice.Alien:Isolationisset

TheOrderwasoneofthefewPS4exclusivesshownoffatE32014,anditplayedversimilarlyto

gameplayfeaturedinit.Thisgamealsoboastssomeamazingingamevisualsandcharactermodels

ThelatestACgametrulylookstochangeupthewaythefranchisehasplayedoverthelastsixtitles

otherassassinsisamazinglyawesome,andthegameplaymomentsthattakeplaceduringcoop

itlookedtoosimilartoAssassinsCreedintermsofitsgameplay,butaftercheckingShadowoutat
E32014Icansaythatitisfarfromit.TheNemesissystemwillensurethatnotwoplaythroughs,
oreventheplaythroughsofyourfriendswilleverbethesameasyours,andthedominationsystem
opens up all sorts of strategy and tactics for approaching each orc stronghold. The game looks
beautiful and definitely has a MiddleEarth feel, plus the story looks to fill in a few gaps in

model and the introduction of a new monster and new humans. The gameplay is what
keepsEvolveinthespotlightthough,anditsuseoffourhumancontrolledcharacterstakingona
muchstrongermonster,whichisalsocontrolledbyanotherhuman.Thedynamicofplayingasa
human player is fast and strategic thanks to the class based hunters you can choose from.

redefinesthephraseoverthetop,andmayevenmakesomegamersweakinthekneesthanks
tothegraphicbrutality.Theinclusionofthreeuniquefightingstancesforeachcharactergreatly
opensupthestrategiesgamerscanemployduringmatches,andthenewrosterispackedfullof
fighters youve never heard before.MK Xwill surely packin another fantastic singleplayer
campaign experience in addition to the traditional fighting modes, so if you enjoyed what
NeatherRealmdidinMK9,youshoulddefinitelyplanongrabbingXwhenitdrops.MortalKombat

2. Destiny (Multiplatform)
BungiesDestinyisthestudiosfirstnewIPpostHalo,andwhileitmayfeatureafewresemblances
toMSsflagshipfranchise,thisgameisdefinitelyanewtypeofgameplayexperienceforaconsole
firstpersonshooter.TheuseofMMOliteaspectsmakesDestinyfeelfreshandnew,andBungies
design pedigree is immediately evident upon first playing the game. The world is massive and
promotesrandomexplorationwithfriends,anditsStrikeMissionsofferformidablebosschallenges
that can takeeven the most well oiled fire teams hours to complete. The level of customization

IreallywantedtolistDestinyasthebesttitleshownatE32014,butafterexperiencingatheater
demo ofArkham Knightin action I couldnt help but get caught up in its awesomeness. Its
immediately clear that Rocksteady is back in charge ofthe Arkham franchise within the first 30
secondsofwatchingthegameinaction.Visually,itsamasterpiece,andtheBatandGothamhave
never looked more authentic and huge. The inclusion of the Batmobile has been implemented
perfectly,anditsmorethanjustavehicleforBatmantousetogetaroundthemuchlargerGotham
CityinArkhamKnight.Hecandynamicallyspringfromitandgetrighttofighting,ordependingon
the height of the ejection you can gracefully crash through skylights to surprise the seedier
membersofGothamCity.Batmancanremotecontrolthistankonwheels,andhecanevenuseit
duringfistfightstosubdueenemieswithconcussiongrenadeswhilehejugglesthemintheair.The
levelofactioninBatman:ArkhamKnightisabsolutelyinsaneandpurefanserviceforfansofthe
Bat.IfyouwereturnedoffbyArkhamOriginsIcanassureyouthatArkhamKnightwillwinyouback
