I. Research Vietnam Party Central Committee has officially launched an Anti-Corruption Steering Committee to develop goals and policies battling against corruption in business, government and public services. Corruption is categorized into 6 main sectors: in the management of land and natural resources (take bribes to grant title deeds); in the finance banking sector; in construction (inflate building costs); in management of state assets (embezzlement, faking invoices); in human resource management (bribery for jobs, promotion); and in judicial sector (judges take bribes to alter verdicts). Corruption can happen anywhere (from medical treatment in hospital to educational services) and have seriously negative impact to the society, the country and the future generation.
II. Concept and Content
Corruptions negative impact to Vietnamese future generation
From what I have researched and also my observation, corruption is quite popular in our society, in our daily lives and can be said as a kind of culture in Vietnam. It happens in most of everything we do (even when parents want their kids to have a good care in kinder garden, they will give money to the nursemaids) because people think that is the easy way to achieve their purpose. However, people do not really see and recognize the impacts of their actions of corruption on the children, what will the children think when they observe that.
In my poster, I use kids toys which are dolls to represent different characters doing corruption. The first doll is a money box portraying a big boss with bald head, beard, and tie, who keeping lots of money for himself. The other dolls lining up and holding gifts and envelopes go smaller and smaller represents our future generation is born and the future of the country is getting decreased by corruption. From the picture, I try to describe the childrens view at adults action of corruption. The kid observes, gets familiar and might think that is a good way to do, they can copy from adult and do it in the future and the corruption will go on as a never-ending cycle. The image visually looks like a game with colorful dolls that kids usually play to mock humans action but it is actually not. Moreover, the line This is not a game also ironically criticizes on people who is reckless of corruptions consequence and tells this is not a fun thing to do.
Target audience: Through this poster, I attempt to target to young adults, change their not my business attitude toward corruption and call for their real action to stop the cycle corruption, build a strong foundation for our countrys future generation as the tag line Transparency, for a brighter Vietnam.
