Who We Are
Welcome to BMT, a business group formed in 1985 from merger of the UK's British Shipbuilders
Research Association (BSRA) and the National Maritime Institute (NMI). Today, we are a leading
multi-disciplinary engineering, science and technology consultancy, operating across a wide
range of industries, including:
Oil and Gas;
Defence;
Offshore Renewable Energy;
Ports and Terminals;
Risk Management; and
Maritime Transport.
With around 1300 professionals located in 60 offices in Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and
the Americas, we draw upon a wide range of experience and expertise to provide our customers
with high-quality, high-value products and services. We support our customers at every stage of
the project lifecycle, from initial concept through to design, construction, operation and eventual
