How NECADD
additive works
The NECADD high-molecular-weight
polymer reduces the energy lost in
the pipeline flow by suppressing
the turbulence at the pipe-wall
boundary layer that gives rise to
drag and inefficient flow. It allows
high-energy fluids to flow more
directionally, significantly increas -
ing pipeline capacity, compared with
the energy lost in fluids not treated
with the drag reducer.

NECADD drag reducer must be
dissolved in the flowing fluid
within the pipe
The drag reducer is added at very
low dosage rates parts per
million (ppm)
The drag reducer does not coat
the pipe wall but stays with the
flowing fluid
Performance varies with physical

dynamics and fluid properties

currents at the boundary of the pipe
wall and the fluid create drag and
reduce the flow rate.
The high-molecular-weight molecules
of NECADD drag reducer create a
smooth, laminar flow regime that
is up to 70% more efficient than
untreated flow.

organic-liquid carrier fluid in
which the polymer content can
be more than 25%
