The reasons people consume carbonated drinks



Carbonated drinks have become part of human daily lives. People drink
carbonated drinks and become a replacement for water. Carbonated drinks are
primarily composed of sugar, different kinds of acids and caffeine. Studies show that
the number of sales of carbonated drinks increasing every year. This can be prove
that carbonated drinks can be consider as one of the most demandable thirst-
quenching drinks. People have their own reason for choose carbonated drinks
instead water. Obviously, people all around the world like carbonated drinks due to
its flavour, caffeine inside the drinks and the ways of business in promoting and
selling products conducted by the companies.



First and foremost, people like to consume carbonated drinks because it have
various flavour. Carbonated drinks have a sweet taste that mix with water. According
to Renee (2013), the sugar inside carbonated drinks make people hard to resist to
consume it because the sugar level inside carbonated drinks is too high.
Furthermore, the sweet taste inside the carbonated drinks stimulate humans brain
thus make people addicted to consume it continually (Bethesda, 2013). As a result,
people addicted with carbonated drinks and feel hard to stop from buying it.
Furthermore, carbonated drinks have a lots of flavour such as fruit flavour. With a
wide range of flavours, people think to try all the flavours and buy a carbonated
drinks that have a flavour that they liked.



Secondly, another reason people like to drink carbonated drinks is caffeine
inside the carbonated drinks. Generally, caffeine is one of ingredients that used
widely especially in food and beverages. This ingredients has become a secret
weapon to attract people to consume carbonated drinks. When the caffeine already
inside in human body, it stimulate nerve system and brain. Samantha Olson (2014)
states that caffeine produce chemicals that block nerve system from react with brain
and produce chemicals that make people blind. The meaning of blind is not blind
that cause by eyes, but they cannot accept any drinks other than drinks that contain
caffeine. Hence, people will buy and consume carbonated drinks every day and not
stop consume it until they satisfied.


Lastly, the effectiveness of advertisement and promotion of products that
made from the companies attract people to buy their products especially carbonated
drinks become another reason people consume carbonated drinks. With the
television, radio and social media that used widely, the companies use this chance to
advertise their products and gain profit. The companies make an advertisement that
connect people with particular life style. As a result, people who identify with that
lifestyle will feel attracted to these product. People especially kids will easily affected
by the advertisement. They persuade their parents to buy what thing that they see on
television. Besides that, the advertisement in social media can help to make the
products known by people. In addition, Mark Hayes (2013) explained that
advertisement and promotion of products using online sales in the social media will
help to increase the popularity of products. As a result, the popularity of the
companies product increase.


In conclusion, carbonated drinks reach a high popularity nowadays. Although
carbonated drinks is cheap, people should not consume it every day because it will
give negative effects for healthy if consumed it in large amounts. Thus, people
should think twice before consume carbonated drinks even though they have own
reasons for choose it.
