In order to remo'e t$e engine to !rame %olt( t$e pin#$ %olt m)st !irst %e loosened& It does not
$a'e to #ome o)t all t$e a"& A spe#ial Tor< so#*et o)ld %e t$e %est tool to )se( %)t I as
a%le to get it done it$ a 12/point #om%ination ren#$&
7n#e t$e pin#$ %olt is loosened( remo'e t$e engine to !rame %olt and t$e to sto#* al)min)m

pre'ent t$e paint !rom #$ipping& Wit$ a 1&2=> $ole sa( #are!)ll" drill t$ro)g$ t$e !airing !rom
t$e o)tside to t$e inside and t$is s$o)ld %e t$e res)lt&
T$is is $at it loo*s li*e it$ t$e !rame slider installed( %)t it is not #omplete& T$e !aring on t$e
K1200GT is ider t$an t$e K1200S& T$ere!ore( t$e !rame slider is not long eno)g$ to ma*e
#onta#t it$ t$e engine/to/!rame %olt& A small spa#er m)st %e made to !ill t$is gap and a
longer !rame slider %olt ma" %e re5)ired& I did not $a'e time to ma*e t$e spa#er( so t$is
portion o! t$e pro?e#t is still in#omplete&

T$e pro#ess !or t$e le!t side is similar to t$e rig$t side( it$ ?)st a !e minor #$anges&
As %e!ore( start %" remo'ing t$e le!t side !airing and t$e ins)lator( and t$is is $at "o)2ll see&
Remo'e t$e )pper engine/to/!rame %olt& 6on2t install t$e %olt !rom t$e *it "et( %e#a)se e
need to mar* t$e inside o! t$e !airing and t$e t$readed p)n#$ t$at #omes it$ t$e *it is not
long eno)g$&
I made t$is p)n#$ to repla#e t$e engine/to/!rame %olt temporaril" in order to mar* t$e inside o!
t$e !airing& As "o) #an see( it is a%o)t @ in#$es long& T$e diameter is &@A@> and it !its t$e $ole
per!e#tl"& 7n#e t$e $ole is mar*ed( drill )sing t$e same te#$ni5)e as t$e rig$t side&

T$ere!ore( t$e $ole in t$e st"ro!oam ins)lator ill need to %e enlarged&
8ere2s t$e le!t slider installed& We $a'e t$e same sit)ation $ere as e did on t$e rig$t side&
T$e slider is not long eno)g$ to ma*e #onta#t it$ t$e engine/to/!rame %olt( so a spa#er and a
longer slider %olt ill %e re5)ired $ere as ell&
