Networking Join the LinkedIn group - The LinkedIn Group is a tool to help people network online via shared discussions, profile information, job announcements, etc. The group is now available for all VMN members to join. We now have 94 members! Log-in to your LinkedIn account, click this link and click join in the upper right corner. Professional Development Certification in Volunteer Administration: The "Certified in Volunteer Administration" (CVA) credential is offered for practitioners in volunteer resources management by the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration. As a performance-based certification, CVA is designed to measure an individual's "knowledge-in-use"--the application of knowledge and skills by those with real-life experience in this role. Charities USA Volunteer Profiles The theme for the next issue of Charities USA is Protecting Human Life & Dignity. If there is a volunteer at your agency that you would like to highlight, please submit a profile via email to vmn@catholiccharitiesusa.org. Profiles should be no more than 350 words long and should describe the kind of service the volunteer provides and what makes volunteering rewarding to him or her. Please submit high quality photos of the volunteer with each profile. Fall issue: Submissions due September 3, 2014 We want to profile a volunteer who is providing services to people living in the shadows of life, people who are forgotten, hidden, trapped, or even ostracized--prison inmates, undocumented people, sex or labor trafficking victims, people with chronic addictions and severe mental health issues, sex offenders, domestic violence perpetrators, people with HIV, people in gangs, children with major behavioral issues and abusive behavior, women who are suffering because of an abortion, people with disabilities vulnerable to abuse, etc. Verified Volunteers- If you missed the webinar on the Volunteer Fast-Pass that was held on J ule 25 th , the presentation slides are available on the Scribd Collections Library under the Verified Volunteers Collection.
