The cowboy was king in 1956 and Early & Modern Firearms, Inc.

(EMF) was founded to supply the demand for the

guns seen in the movies and on television. At that time Colt had stopped production of single action revolvers and
declined to resume production. EMF became a major distributor, and then manufacturer, of the Great Western, the first
reproduction of the famous Colt Model 1873 SAA. When the strong dollar made it too costly to produce the Model 1873
in the U.S., EMF turned to Europe as the European gun manufacturers began the replica firearms industry there. During
the past 53 years, EMF has traveled the world to bring The Best In Cowboy Guns to first, American Cowboys, and
then Cowboy Action Shooters. EMF's efforts have culminated in the introduction of the Great Western II, which is an
authentic copy of the original 1873 Colt.

In 2008, EMF introduced new versions of the Great Western II single action revolver, manufactured in Italy by
F.LLI Pietta. Earning the award for the 2008 SASS Product of the Year was the GWII "Alchimista", named after
Alessandro Pietta aka Alchimista, SASS #41531, who personally designed it. In December 2008, EMF & Pietta
debuted the GWII "Pony Express" revolvers designed specifically for Cowboy Mounted Shooting competition.
Even as Early & Modern Firearms, Inc. celebrates its 53rd
Anniversary of service to the trade, we point toward the
future. In 2009, EMF will be adding some high quality
U.S.A. made modern firearms to the product line. This
modern line will include a lightweight, compact 9mm Double
Action semi-automatic pistol with interchangeable low
profile sights, and a line of 1911's including one patterned
after the 1911-A1, a Commander Model & a Combat model.

EMFs 1873 Great Western II Californian is manufactured by F.LLI PIETTA in Italy. These guns feature
hammer forged steel barrels and frames that are drop forged and then CNC machined. Additionally,
they have wider rear and larger front sights for faster sight acquisition. Just like the original Colts,
these revolvers have a floating firing pin in the hammer and casehardened frames. This combination
of traditional aesthetics with the best modern technology makes the Great Western II the most sought
after, durable and reliable single action revolver on the market today.

The EMF Great Western II is made by Pietta's Italian craftsmen in Brescia, a region famous for
making guns since prior to the Revolutionary War. Alessandro Pietta, SASS Life #41531 took a page
out of the history books and reintroduced the 1873, paired with the 1860 Army grip frame. He added a
competition trigger which is wider and set back allowing for a larger finger in the trigger guard.
When you first pick up the "Alchimista", your initial reaction is "WOW! What a nice feel!" The 1860
grip is longer and slimmer than the traditional 1873 Army grip. While not quite the 90 degree angle
of the Bisley model Colts, it points better and more naturally than the revolvers with the standard
1873 grip. The "Alchimista" with the 1860 grip would be a great addition to your Cowboy Action
Battery.

New to EMF's Great Western II product line is the 12" Buntline. With the deep color cased hardened
finish, smooth action, and choice of walnut or ultra stag grips, this pistol is a handsome addition to the
finest gun collections. The first version of this unique firearm was designed by Colt for Ned Buntline.
This revolver was presented to Wyatt Earp by the town of Dodge City, Kansas and was made famous on
the streets of Tombstone, Arizona Territory.

In developing the 9C1 pistol and visiting with gun dealers for feedback, we found these
small businessmen and gun enthusiasts patriotic and intensely passionate about

This rifle was made famous by its namesake, a young scout, who

A very popular revolver for its time, the model 1851 Navy revolver was adopted by both the U.S. and

1862 NEW YORK METROPOLITAN POLICE
The 1860 Army saw extensive use during the Civil War and was a favored sidearm of Union troops.
Built on the same frame as the 1851 Navy, it featured a streamlined barrel, improved loading lever
and a belted cylinder for added strength. Manufactured by F.LLI Pietta.
The 1861 Navy is often referred to as the most
attractive pistol Colt ever built. EMFs 1861 military
version is all steel and cut for a shoulder stock.
This variation of the 1860 Army features a

A rifle born to satisfy both the aesthetical purist and the competitive long range shooter. The Gibbs is the
choice of numerous Long Range World Champions, most recently winning 10 Gold, 9 Silver, and 8 Bronze
Medals at the MLAIC World Long Range Muzzle Loading Championship held in Cape Town, in September 2007.
With it's perfect grip and outstanding accuracy, this pistol
was the classical American pistol during the War of
Independence and of the Western pioneers. The
octagonal rifled barrel is of blue finished steel and
the stock is made from walnut.
A reproduction of the English "Howdah Pistol" so named
after the covered seat device used on top of Elephants
in India during tiger hunts. The tigers would
sometimes jump up on the elephant and the
double barreled pistols were used as a last
ditch, close up weapon.
This 1858 Remington Target Model is the choice of World Championship target pistol shooters. The materials
used are of the highest quality, enhancing the ballistic
characteristics of the barrel, cylinder and the trigger set
mechanism. This reproduction has been expressly
customized by Pedersoli's craftsmen with
recommendations from World Class Competition
shooters. The non-reflecting barrel, anti-wear
cylinder and the barrel rifling twist have been
designed to give the competetive shooter the
highest advantage.
