Religion The main religion with over 81% of the Nepalese population is Hinduism because of its history and strong bond with India. Seeing that Nepal has many Hindus, many of its tourism locations are Hindu temples or sacred Hindu grounds. Fact: Nepal has the second highest amount of Hindu followers in the world after India.
Food Nepal has many lovely dishes such as a dish called momo, which is a dim sum dumpling with spices, meat, vegetables, and cheese and is served with dipping sauces and was originally from Tibet, China. Sel roti is a Nepali traditional homemade, sweet, ring-shaped rice bread/doughnut, prepared during Tihar, a widely celebrated Hindu festival in Nepal.
Trade Nepal is big at exporting things like food (rice and tea), Martials (knotted carpets and clothing) and plastic base items. Nepal likes to import items such as Refined Petroleum, metals and machinery. Nepal does most of it trading with India but for some imports and exports they have to get it from a country that is not next to them.
Challenges/ Achievements Nepal has faced a couple of challenges such as having to fight for a democracy for many years and is facing the ongoing challenges of poverty, crime, drugs and unemployment. Nature Nepal has one of the most unique environments in the world going from the tall mountains of the Himalayas to the grasslands of the south. This amazing landscape and the small population helps with the survival of Nepals native animal. Some of which are the Bengal Tiger (which is the most endangered species on the planet) and the one horned Rhino. More than 80% of the world known population of the Bengal Tiger survives in this tiny nation and there are just 5000 Bengal tigers left on the planet and they live in less that 15 countries because their natural habitat is being destroyed. The one horned rhino is the second largest animal in Asia and is one of the most poached and hunted animals with a large amount living in nature parks and it is said that there were less than 200 left in 1910.

Mt Everest Its most famous tourism destination is the Himalayas because it has Mt Everest that at 8848 metres is the tallest mountain in the world. This attracts thousands of mountain climbers and sightseers from around the world. An interesting fact is that the first person to climb to the top of Mt Everest was a New Zealander called Sir Edmund Hillary with his Nepalese Sherpa Tenzing Norgay in 1953.
Sport In Nepal the most popular sport is cricket followed by football (soccer). In Nepal they have many traditional sports but their favourite traditional sports are horse riding, horse polo and archery. Nepal invented a sport called elephant polo and it started a new trend for the rich in south East Asia.
