PAPERS AND PUBLICATIONS
1.

Synopsis: Development and implementation of a semi-automatedsystem using a Programmable
Logic controller (PLC) for power factor improvement of a 3-phase induction motor. The
implementation incorporates development of the hardware and software for power factor
improvement of a 3-phase squirrel-cage induction motor. The hardware comprises of power-
circuit and controlcircuit equipped with protective devices whereas software includes PLC
program developed under the IEC-61131-3 standards. The process includes an on-line process of
switching of capacitors-bank through digital output of the PLC in a proper logic.


PROJECTS/RESEARCH
2. M.Tech. Project Title: - Implementation of PLC for Power factor Improvement in
a Three-phase induction motor. Year: 2014

Synopsis: A PLC-based system consisting of a squirrel-cage induction motor as an inductive load
employing method of switching of Capacitors using relays and contactors for power factor
improvement of the system. The PLC was employed for controlling the control scheme of
switching of capacitors using PLC programming.

3. B.E. Project Title :- POWER TRADING Year: 2012

Synopsis: A study of existing scenario of Power generation, transmission, distribution and its trading in
India.
