ensure that all guidelines are being followed. REMINDER: Workforce members should not

Q3 Town Hall Meetings
We had very successful 3rd Quarter Town
Hall meetings with nearly 200 attendees!
The primary focus of our 3rd Quarter
Town Hall Meeting was our 2014 Employee
Engagement Survey results. You may recall,
we had 92 percent participation exceeding
Market, Corporate, Division and facility prior
year participation. This solid participation
provided excellent feedback on what you
as employees believe we are doing well and
where we have opportunities to improve.
The graph provides the results of your
feedback.
Our pledge is to give employees a voice in
the workplace and to listen to and act on
those views. We remained in the Listening
phase during our Town Hall meetings and, as
a result, fostered good discussion and many
suggestions were provided.
We are currently reviewing each item to determine what actions we can take as a
result of your feedback. Your participation your voice is instrumental in developing
both department-specifc and facility-wide action plans focused on improving our
areas of opportunities and sustaining and building upon our strengths. With your help,
our continued commitment to culture, leadership, voice, staffng and rewards will
create a Healthy Work Environment and make Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center a

results and engaging all in the action planning process. If you have not yet had an
opportunity to review and discuss your departments results, ask your supervisor our

ICU Clinical Manager
Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center recently announced the addition of Jarrod Wester as its new EMS

local and regional EMS agencies. He is also a key addition to Gulf Coast Regional Medical Centers
Emergency department, disaster response team and critical care committees, including STEMI, stroke and
cardiovascular.
Jarrod has been working in the healthcare feld since graduating high school in 2001. During his senior
year of high school, Jarrod and a fellow classmate were the frst ever to complete a college level EMT-basic
course at Gulf Coast Community College, while dually-enrolled at Port St. Joe High School. Since then,
his career has been centered on providing exceptional patient care, while advancing his licensure through
paramedic, critical care paramedic and most recently earning the challenging designation as a certifed fight
paramedic.
I want to be a part of a team that strives to continually be at the very forefront of innovation, and this is
why I have chosen to work with the men and women who make up Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center,
said Wester.
When Jarrod is not teaching, training or providing critical patient care to the citizens of our area, he can be found spending quality time
with his wife Kory and three children, Maggie (6), Max (4) and Jase (2). Jarrod also enjoys running and is currently training for his frst
10K race in early November.
Jarrod Wester Named EMS Coordinator
As HCA employees, it is our top priority to take excellent care of our patients, but to also take care of each other. The HCA Hope
Fund was established in 2004 as hundreds of our colleagues were affected by the coastal hurricanes. Immediately following the storms,
HCA employees throughout the United States wanted to know how they could help. Contributions came in and were disbursed out
to HCA families that had been impacted. To these families, the contributions from their fellow employees represented much more than
fnancial relief, they represented hope that life might soon return to normal.
Our colleagues are not just co-workers, they are our family and we have always rallied around one another when devastation strikes. So
what started as a very informal way to help one another, soon evolved to a formal non-proft organization, the HCA Hope Fund. Our
fund is supported by employees allowing us to do what we do best, take care of others.
