Another Relay for Life in Moorabool has

come and gone and it was a time to Celebrate,
Remember and Fight Back.
Held at Maddingley Park last Saturday
afternoon through to Sunday morning,
teams walked, ran and even stilt walked
laps of the oval, raising funds for cancer
research.
Committee chairperson Gillian Loughman
thanked all involved in the event.
A huge thank you to everyone who came
along to this years event.
It was another successful year that would
not have been possible without the support
from each and every one of you.
Market stalls, free activities, live
entertainment, raffles, prizes, massages (for
the weary) all contributed in making the
event a community get together and creating
a carnival like atmosphere.
DjHS had a team in the relay called the
Clown Doctors (judged Best Tent), and
Gabys Army received an award for Best
Baton. Foodworks supermarket also had a
team in the relay as did Invictus Fitness and
many others.

Getting fire ready

A NEW station for the
Greendale CFA is under
construction.
Greendale CFA captain
Damian Zabinskas said the
new station would include
three bays, an office and
meeting room, and electric
remote-controlled
roller
doors.
Its due to be completed
around Christmas or New
Years. It would be a nice
Christmas present if its finished by then, Mr Zabinskas said.

Its very good news for

us. Our tankers didnt fit in
the old station properly and
there wasnt enough room to
walk around them safely.
The existing station was
demolished two weeks ago
and holes have been dug for
the new building.
Mr Zabinskas said the
Greendale CFA would operate out of the Ballan CFA station until the new building
was completed and Greendales three appliances two
tankers and a slip-on were

temporarily stored on private property in Greendale.

It will be quite exciting
over the next six months to
watch the new station go
up, he said.
The new $5.9 million station was fully funded by the
State Government and has
been in the planning stages
for the past 12 months.
Mr Zabinskas said sewerage issues had originally
forced them to look at alternative sites including

the Greendale Reserve and

cemetery trust (neither of
which were viable options),
however once the neighbouring Blackwood fire refuge was built with a holding
tank, that set a precedent
and gave us the flexibility to
build where we wanted to
build.
Greendale CFA currently
has 75 members and Mr
Zabinskas said he hoped the
new facilities would help to
attract more members.

Landcare boost

In order to support Landcare and community group

projects,
an
additional
$250,000 boost has been
given to the Port Phillip &
Westernport CMA Community Grant program.
Minister for the Environment, Greg Hunt, announced the funding as part
of the Australian Governments National Landcare
Programme.
To be eligible to receive a
Community Grant, a group
needs to be incorporated
or to be auspiced by an incorporated
organisation,
and to have public liability
insurance of at least $10 million. Applicants need to be
capable of completing and
reporting their projects by
30th November, 2015.
Enquiries can be directed
to community.grants@ppw
cma.vic.gov.au or the PPW
CMA on 03 8781 7900.

Boutique breed
show class

MYRNIONG farmer Anne

Wilson has won the most
successful exhibitor at the
Royal Adelaide Show for her
Belted Galloway cattle.
With just three Belties under 24 months, Ms Wilson
came first in the categories
heifer 16 20 months, bull
16- 20 months, 1st Sires
Progeny Group, 1st Breeders Group, and won Junior
Champion Heifer, Junior
Champion Bull and Grand
Champion Bull.
She said because her young
Belted Galloways were not
yet productive like the mature cows and bulls they
were up against, it meant
the judge could see a great
future for her cattle.

It also means that all the

selective breeding I have
been doing for excellent temperament, breed type and
carcass qualities is paying
off, Ms Wilson said.
The Belties are also very
adaptable to varying climatic conditions, making
them the ideal choice for the
Myrniong area. As for the
meat, they are either winning or placing in the carcass competitions.
She said the Belted Galloways originated in the Galloway area of south-west Scotland more than 300 years
ago by crossing a Galloway
with the Dutch Lakenvelder.
Ms Wilson said she grew

up on a dairy farm in Darley

with Illawarra Shorthorns
and after her children grew
up she and her husband
moved to their property
Grandview in Myrniong
and began breeding Angus
and Shorthorn cattle.
They bought their daughter
a Belted Galloway heifer and
calf for her 21st and, after
the heifer calf went on to
become National Supreme
Champion Belted Galloway
at the Bendigo Beef Show
in 2011, they expanded their
Belted Galloway breeding
stock.
Grandview Belties have
previously won 2012 Junior
and Grand Champion Bull
at the Royal Adelaide Show.

The keys to my success so

far is in the careful breeding selection, listening and
learning from other breeders, paying attention to judges comments, and getting
feedback from the butcher
and industry leaders, Ms
Wilson said.
I would highly recommend Belted Galloways to
anyone wanting an easy to
manage, medium animal,
and something that looks
good in the paddock.
She said she would show
the winning team, along
with two mature cows, a
mature bull and a calf, at the
Royal Melbourne Show for
the first time this year.

Bungaree has received a funding boost to help commemorate
its proud history of service in the Australian Defence Force.
Patron Senator for Ballarat and Minister for Veterans
Affairs, Senator Michael Ronaldson, said the Bungaree &
District Historical Society had received $2750 in funding
under the Australian Governments Saluting Their Service
grants program.
The funds will be used to restore the First World War honour
boards of Bullarook Primary School and Bolwarrah Primary
School, which are on display at the Bungaree & District
Historical Society.
I congratulate the Bungaree & District Historical Society
on its efforts to recognise the invaluable contribution of
Australian servicemen and women past and present, and
ensure the next generation appreciates their service and
sacrifice, Senator Ronaldson said.
The Bungaree & District Historical Society was one of
68 funding recipients from the latest round of Saluting
their Service grants, with more than $178,000 allocated to
community and ex-service organisations around Australia.

The grants assist community and ex-service organisations

in a range of activities including restoring wartime
memorabilia, establishing new commemorative plaques, and
upgrades to local rolls of honour.
Local community and ex-service organisations interested in
applying for future grant funding rounds should visit dva.

Make Small KERB CHATTER

Business YOUR Are social media sites, like Facebook, an advantage
or disadvantage to our society and why?
business
By Jessica Howard

By Kate Taylor
Popping down to the shops
is most definitely encouraged on Saturday 4 October.
Support Small Business
Day, being held by Moorabool Shire Council in conjunction with Ballan and
District Chamber of Commerce (BDCC), is a chance
for residents to visit their local shops and help boost the
local economy.
The Victorian Government
initiative is all about spending in-store at small retail
operators with a shop front,
not only strengthening the
local economy but also increasing local competition.
Shopping locally also drives
product diversity and innovation, and in turn helps
to create jobs and build
stronger
neighbourhoods
according to Small Business
Victoria.
Councils Economic Development Officer Leann Brown
encouraged local businesses
to sign up by first registering

online at supportsmallbusinessday.vic.gov.au.
Registered businesses will
receive a support pack full
of promotional materials to
display in-store, as well as
guidance and inspiration
through a series of practical
tools and workshops all
with a focus on long term
growth.
The Support Small Business Day Marketing Campaign is designed to incorporate a range of new and
existing activities aimed
at promoting Moorabool
and participating small
businesses.
Participating businesses are
also eligible for a workshop
on social media marketing
including how to set up a
business FaceBook page.
Lets spread the word
about Support Small Business Day on October 4, 2014
and make it a great day for
locals and visitors to shop local and support our fantastic
small businesses.

Ive seen both sides and theres

definitely a plus and a minus.
Theres all the bullying and so on,
but its also a great way to stay in
contact with friends.
Bevan (Adelaide)

We arent Facebook people, but

we see the disadvantages and
advantages. Its like any interaction
with people, some people are
positive and some are negative.
Andrew and Donna (QLD)

Its good in some respects, you can stay updated

with whats going on with people and the town, or
you can find your lost animals but sometimes its
not good for slandering.
Jenny (Darley)

I think its an advantage, its easy to

keep in touch with people and Im
able to talk to a lot of people online,
that I probably couldnt normally.
Chantelle (Melton)

Its definitely a disadvantage, with everything that

goes on its too hard to monitor. Thats why my 14
year old daughter doesnt have it.

In court

By Jessica Howard

A collection of Moorabool Shire

residents received over $3000
worth of combined fines last Friday morning, after being caught
behind the wheel with a suspended license.

The six disqualified drivers appeared in separate cases at the

Bacchus Marsh Magistrate Court,
where they each pleaded guilty.
While no convictions were put in
place, Magistrate Michelle Hodgson called for each defendant to
pay a fine varying from $300 to
$1000.

A 34-year-old woman was

placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond without conviction,
after she stole and crashed a tractor. The defendant and her friend
found the unlocked tractor at St
Annes Winery on July 4, and took
it on a joyride along Greendale/
Myrniong road before crashing into a tree. Although no one
was harmed, the tractor received
significant damage; in which the
defendant was imposed with a
$300 fine.

Meanwhile, two drug related

incidents were heard before the
court, including the possession of
82 grams of cannabis, and up to
12 grams of methamphetamine.
27 bags of cotton buds laced with
ice were found in a 28-year-old
womans home, however both
cases have been adjourned for a
contest mention on October 23.

Underbank overkill?
UNDERBANK in Bacchus
Marsh is only one step away
from being rezoned so it can
be developed into housing.
At a special meeting of
council held last Wednesday, five councillors decided
the future of the Underbank
Stud.
Crs Dave Edwards, Tonia
Dudzik and John Spain voted to send Planning Scheme
Amendment C62 (the planning title for the rezoning
proposal) to the Victorian
Minister for Planning, Matthew Guy, for approval. If
the minister approves the
amendment, this will effectively give the go ahead for
a housing development at
Underbank.

Cr Edwards said he was

swayed by Cr Dudziks argument that the minister
was more likely to approve
the development directly
because it aligned with current government policy and
received a positive recommendation from a planning
panel.
In March this year councillors voted to request that
Minister Guy appoint the
planning panel to hear public and community submissions regarding the development of Underbank.
Cr Edwards said the rezoning request had strict controls in place that had never
before been seen in Moora-

bool, including minimum lot

sizes, wider roads, deterring
cul-de-sacs (minimum block
width of 16m to ensure adequate parking), tree-lined
streets, provision of netball,
football, cricket facilities and
not allowing lots to be built
until crucial supporting infrastructure was in place.
If we rely on VCAT decisions we will get results such
as the recent 14 lot subdivision in Main Street where
VCAT stated there are no existing neighbourhood characteristics and the applicant
does not have to pay the developer contribution of $700
per lot, Cr Edwards said.
Whilst I have significant

concerns with the lack of

funding provided by the
State Government to help
Moorabool cope with the
growth its policies are creating, we would be derelict in
not taking control of likely
developments and risk having more low quality developments that dont provide
any significant open space
and that do not align with
the local character of Bacchus Marsh.
Cr Dudzik said while shed
love to put up a sign that
read closed for business,
the proposed development
of Underbank was superior
to any in Bacchus Marsh at
the moment, with bigger
blocks, clear access and con-

tributions to sporting ovals

and facilities.

Im not keen on development but this is a great development. We have to get

the best outcome for Bacchus
Marsh. Kids need to play
sport here, not in Ballarat,
Cr Dudzik said.
Speaking against Amendment C62, Moorabool Shire
mayor Paul Tatchell said: If
the future of this town is in
our hands, but the minister
makes the decision, then we
have a serious problem.

Our ultimate responsibility is to listen to the needs

of the people. This is a fantastic development and it
does meet all the criteria, but

what it doesnt meet is the

people and their needs, Cr
Tatchell said.
Council officers will now
submit Amendment C62 to
Minister Guy for approval,
the minister will consider
the planning panel report
and amendment before
making his decision, and the
decision will come into effect
once gazetted.
** If council had rejected
this amendment, the developer Kataland, could take it
straight to the Minister for
approval, risking Councils
ability to enforce the recommendations put forward by
council planning officers.

Message to vandals

SONIA
SMITH
has
slammed
vandals
who
covered one of her election
billboards at Buninyong in
x-rated and sexist graffiti.
The sign was put up on the
Midland Hwy on Sunday
(September 14) and within
24 hours it was covered
with tags and pornographic
drawings of body parts, the
Nationals candidate for Buninyong said.

It was taken down at dawn

on Tuesday (September 16)
by my husband on his way
to work.
Ms Smith said there was a
vital message here about respect for women in general.
I am the only female candidate in the marginal seat
of Buninyong at this point.
I have a young baby and I
firmly believe we need more
females in decision-making

positions to help protect the

rights of women and the
vulnerable people they often
find themselves caring for,
she said.

Do we see male candidates

being treated like this?
She said while she was very
disappointed, the vandalism
only made her more determined. She has replaced the
sign.

Eagle swoops up title

GORDONS Gerard Clifford is this years Central

Highlands Football League
Rookie of the Year.
The 17-year-old Eagles defender was awarded the title
last Wednesday night and
was taken by surprise.
I didnt expect it. Pretty
much everyone who was
nominated is a pretty handy
player, Clifford said.
It was only his second season playing senior football
where he played the whole
year in the back pocket, including two finals games.
Gordon lost to eventual pre-

miers Bungaree in a preliminary final by eight points.

He said 2013 was all about
stepping up and being competitive and this year, once
you got used to it, was
about playing the game of
footy, but a game that was a
bit quicker and harder.
Clifford said he watched
and learned from the senior
players at the club who had
been there a long time, especially the ones who played in
the backline.
Id try and attach myself to
them at training and watch
what theyd do, he said.

Apart from the footy side,

he said the best thing about
playing was hanging out
with his mates and the club
culture at Gordon.
He said next season he
would focus on continuing
to put in a big effort, and
hoped the club could go two
better.
Clifford
was
awarded
Rookie of the Year by the
CHFL Board from a talented
pool of 18 nominees including Michael Snaith (Ballan),
Steven Ryan (Bungaree),
Mitch Kennedy (Dunnstown), and Darcy Osborne
(Springbank).

Ramsay in the running

Liberal Member for Western

Victoria, Simon Ramsay, will
run for farmer health when
he tackles the Melbourne
Marathon in early October.
Mr Ramsay said that the
National Centre for Farmer
Health has provided important programs to farming
communities over the years.
The Sustainable Farm Family program has been pivotal
in helping farmers meet the

challenge of long droughts

that caused both physical
and mental anguish. Its one
of many programs that are
aimed at engaging farmers, and farming families,
in active choices about their
health and lifestyle, Mr
Ramsay said.
The Melbourne Marathon,
and fun runs such as this, are
important events to engage
communities in exercise and
also to help raise money for

healthcare services across

Victoria.
While I enjoy participating in fun runs like Run
Ballarat, Run Geelong and
the Melbourne Marathon to
promote and support healthcare services like Western
Health and the National
Centre for Farmer Health,
the important work is to help
those that require a change
of lifestyle for a longer and
healthier life.

Large trucks using Ballans Main Street, Inglis, is

a source of concern. Some
trucks have a legitimate
need to enter town but the
vast majority of those going
or coming from Geelong
that use Inglis Street are
simply cutting across town
to enter or exit the freeway
at the eastern end. Large
trucks present a significant
danger to the community
when travelling through the
Main Street. There is the
primary school, an aged care
facility, the hospital as well
as the main shopping strip
through which they travel.
At the same time they have
a deleterious effect upon
the towns general amenity
through the excessive noise
they generate. Surely it is
time for Vic Roads to reclassify Inglis Street to prevent
its use as a transit for large
trucks. There would be no
losers with such a move.
Whilst taking the western
entrance of the freeway
rather than the eastern may

be a little further I would estimate that it would take less

time for the trucks given that
it is very straight forward
and doesnt involve roundabouts and so on. Its time
something was done.

Putting heads together at climate summit

As I mentioned in this piece

a week or so ago, the United
Nations has called for world
leaders to gather for a special meeting in New York
on September 23 on the climate. As I write this piece
I am aware of the news of
home-grown terrorists in
our midst and the angst this
is causing. However, the
problems of the Middle East
can only be compounded by
the effects of climate change.
And climate change will affect us all and, maybe in a
strange way, call us all into
a union that is impossible
under the current political
climate. But maybe that is
only a pipedream.
Back to the climate as UN
Secretary-General Ban Kimoon himself says, Climate change is not a far-off
problem. It is happening
now and is having very real
consequences on peoples

lives. Climate change is disrupting national economies,

costing us dearly today and
even more tomorrow. Ban
Ki-moon has asked these
leaders to bring bold announcements and actions to
the Summit that will reduce
emissions, strengthen climate resilience, and mobilise
political will for a meaningful legal agreement in 2015.
As the World Meteorological
Organization (WMO) Secretary-General Michel Jarraud said, Climate change
is already leading to more
extreme weather such as intense heat and rain. The abnormal risks becoming the
norm. We need to act now.
More than 120 heads of
state and government have
committed to attend the Climate Summit, making it the
largest gathering seeking to
tackle climate change in history. While the US President

and the United Kingdom

Prime Minister are among
the 120 heads of state, our
Prime Minister is not. Not
that he is not going to be in
New York is this not only
too sad a reflection on our
present government?
So in light of the sad and
ignorant behaviour of our
federal government might I
include in this weeks article
some of the findings of the
United Nations studies on
the impacts of the climate
around the world.
According to a new report
from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO)
and the Centre for Research
on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED) of the Catholic
University of Louvain (UCL)
in Belgium weather, climate
and water-related disasters
are on the rise worldwide,
causing loss of life and setting back economic and so-

cial development by years,

if not decades. From 1970
to 2012, 8,835 disasters, 1.94
million deaths, and US$ 2.4
trillion of economic losses
were reported globally as
a result of hazards such
as droughts, extreme temperatures, floods, tropical
cyclones and related health
epidemics.
The report was published
ahead of the First Session of
the Preparatory Committee
Meeting (Geneva 14-15 July)
for the Third United Nations
World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction. Storms
and floods accounted for 79
per cent of the total number
of disasters due to weather,
climate and water extremes
and caused 55 per cent of
lives lost and 86 per cent of
economic losses between
1970 and 2012, according to
the report.
Hurricane Katrina in the

United States of America in

2005 caused the worst economic losses, at US$ 146.89
billion, followed by Sandy
in 2012 with a cost of $ 50
billion.
The worst ten reported disasters in terms of lives lost
occurred primarily in least
developed and developing
countries, whereas the economic losses were mainly in
more developed countries.
Disasters caused by weather, climate, and water-related hazards are on the rise
worldwide. Both industrialized and non-industrialized
countries are bearing the
burden of repeated floods,
droughts, temperature extremes and storms, said
WMO
Secretary-General
Michel Jarraud.
The United Nations Global
Assessment
Report
on
Disaster Risk Reduction
2013 concluded that direct

and indirect losses from

natural hazards of all kinds
have been underestimated
by at least 50 per cent because of the data collection
challenges.
Another challenge for users of risk information is
the changing characteristics
(frequency, location, severity) of weather-, climate- and
water-related hazards. Natural climate variability is now
exacerbated by long-term,
human-induced
climate
change, so that yesterdays
norms will not be the same
as tomorrows.
Next week I will detail
some of the findings of the
different regions around the
world.
What is your opinion?

In recent years weve seen

a changing face of the regional property market. The
growth in the number of tree
changers and sea changers has seen a number of
areas growing in value and
popularity.
Agents in towns within
commuting distance of Melbourne are reporting more
competition for properties in
and on the outskirts of their
towns and also a change
in which areas are most
sought-after.
In Castlemaine, for example, areas west of the railway
were previously regarded as
the wrong side of the tracks,
while streets on the eastern
side were seen as among the
towns finest. Now, though,
westside property values
have been driven up by
demand from commuters
wanting to be close to the
station.
This is a trend not confined
to small towns. In Ballarat,
agents say that in areas close
to the station, such as Soldiers Hill, where the median
house price rose by 49 per
cent in the five years to June
30, the market is being driven by commuters. They are
attracted to period homes
at far cheaper prices than in
Melbourne and to the citys
excellent schools.
Meanwhile, areas near the
new Wendouree station are
being marketed into Melbourne Lake Gardens, near
the station, lake and golf

course, for example.

Agents in major regional
centres such as Bendigo and
others within commuting
distance of Melbourne, such
as Gippsland towns, say a
tree change used to be associated with retirement, as
older people sought to relax, downsize and get more
value for their superannuation dollar. Now, though,
lifestyle and affordability
mean many young families
are making the move and
the tree change home could
range from a small home to
one in a subdivision on the
fringes.
It is a story being repeated
in centres such as Kyneton,
Birregurra,
Daylesford,
Traralgon
and
Barwon
Heads, where the regional
house price of $690,000 is
higher than Melbournes.
Bendigo, also with excellent
schools and infrastructure
including the new hospital
project, even has a laneway
culture now.
Other areas where the median topped the half million mark include beachside
Apollo Bay, Ocean Grove
and Torquay, Newtown in
Geelong, Ballarats Lake
Wendouree, and the Macedon Ranges towns of Gisborne, Macedon, Woodend.
The good news is that, for
regional home owners in
these areas, prices are likely
to continue to grow as more
Melburnians opt for a rural
lifestyle, while still being
able to work in the city or
even just visit the CBD
when they choose.

Hopetoun Park duo Ross

and Greg Sugars were also
winners at Melton when
exciting Kiwi bred Bettors
Delight/Jingle Belle Rock
5-Y-0 gelding Bettor Rock
On chalked up his 13th success in 37 race appearances
(six from six in Australia) by
taking the Sunbury United
Cricket Club Pace for M1 &
M2 class over 1720 metres.
Trapped wide from outside
the front line, Bettor Rock
On was able to slot into the
one/one spot at the bell and
when asked to run on turning, quickly put the issue
beyond doubt, scoring by 3.6
metres in advance of Lombo
Cloud Nine and Classy Guy
in a rate of 1-54.5.
There was a thrilling finish
to the Peter McErvale Real
Estate Trotters Mobile for T1
& T2 class over 2200 metres
at Bray Raceway Ballarat
on Tuesday, with Dunnstown trainer/driver David
Murphys Monica My Dear
($1.60) dead-heating with
Daylesford trainer Bob Conroys Chipmont Lad ($24.00).
Monica My Dear a 7-Y-0
home bred It Is I/Biddy My

of the race from the pole trailing the speedy The Dutchman (gate four), whereas 9-Y0 Band Of Chips/Kept Lady
gelding Chipmont Lad spent
most of the race three back in
the moving line.
Gaining an inside passage
in the straight, Monica My
Dear momentarily hit the
front in the shadows of the
post, but was swamped by
Chipmont Lad which angled
in-between runners resulting in the judge being unable
to separate the pair in a mile
rate of 2-05.4. The favourite
Nomistakingpegasus was a

Lombo Scrutinizer (three

Rockbank trainer Joe Vassallo has 5-Y-0 gelding Stunning Jasper on top of his
game at present, bringing up
victory number six in 34 outings by taking the Diamond
Rewards Join Now Trotters
Mobile for T1 & T2 class over
2200 metres.
Easing three wide in the final circuit, Stunning Jasper
was accommodated by William John coming out ahead
of him from three back in
the moving line, but going
nowhere, resulting in Stunning Jasper having to go
four wide approaching the
final bend.
When
Dora
Pepperell
kicked away on turning, she
appeared to have the race in
her keeping until Stunning
Jasper motored to the wire
down the centre of the track
to register a runaway 4.3 metre victory in a rate of 2-02.4.
Ballan Road finished third
after following the runner

Lakers take title over Cobras

Ballarat Football Netball League

At half time the girls were

ten goals down but pegged
the margin back to four at
three quarter time.

The coach gave one last

message to the girls going
into the final quarter.
Put your body on the line
and get that ball. That was
the message from Bacchus
Marsh B Grade netball coach
Frank Pawlowicz to his team
in the BFNL Grand Final.
The Cobras were playing
for a back to back premiership, this year against Lake
Wendouree.
The match always seemed
to be in the hands of the Lakers, but the Cobra girls never
gave up.

We are back in this game.

Work hard in defence, go
one on one. You have to do
what I ask, not what you
think, what I ask, he said.
Take the moment for you,
as a team.

Lisa Sayers registers her son Rohan online as a new

BMLAC member.

Unfortunately the Lakers

scored the first four goals
before the Cobras shot their
first.

Cobras lose their pride

Kicking goals will not only
win a game, it will give you
a premiership. The Bacchus
Marsh Reserves Football
team failed to capitalise on
opportunities in their match.
Playing Redan in the BFL
Grand Final, the Cobras
kicked only one goal in the
first quarter and in the last
quarter, could only manage
one goal with a minute left.
Coach Rick Millar, clearly
devastated by the loss, said
he was absolutely gutted for
the boys and for the club.
Unfortunately we didnt
play well when we needed
to.
To the club, I apologise for
the poor effort.
At half time there was
only an eight point gap in
Redans favour. Ethan Tib-

bles, (BFL 2014 goal kicker)

booted the first two goals
to put the Cobras in front.
Redan regrouped after Bacchus Marsh controlled the
first half of the third quarter,
kicking two goals in succession to still only have an
eight point lead going into
the final term.
Coach Millar gave the boys
one last address before they
took to the Eastern Oval to
hopefully bring home the
Cup.
Good things come in life
for those that have perseverance. If you persevere, you
will be rewarded, he said.
The team didnt persevere
and only scored one goal
and three points to Redans
winning score of three goals
and two points.
Bacchus Marsh 7.9 (51) lost
Redan 10 10 (70)
A best on ground performance was awarded to
Thomas Wardell (BM).
