Presentation
(20 minutes)

Group activity
(The Verb Race
game)

1. Teacher gives instructions
on how the game is carried
out.
2. Teacher shows an example.
3. Teacher divides the class
into groups, all having equal
amount of students. (maximum
4 groups)
4. Teacher calls out the first
student from each group.
5. The first representative rolls
the dice and moves to his/her
count. (Each group has their
significant symbol.) The other
group members can count the
numbers out loud.
6. If the student lands on an
empty space, he/she passes
the dice to the next

grammar item.

7. If the student lands on a
Magic Spell space, he/she
has to pick a verb from the
Magic Box that the teacher has
provided.
8. The student acts the verb
out, without using any sounds
or utterance of word but only
gesture and movements.
9. Group members guess the
verb that the representative
acts out.
10. If guessed correctly, the
group moves forward.
11. If guessed wrongly, the
group misses a turn and the
other groups get the privilege
to answer and move one step
forward, if correct.
12. The game continues until
the first group that reaches the
Finish space wins.

Practice
(20 minutes)


Group activity

1. Students remain in their
respective groups.
2. Teacher gives instructions.
3. Teacher distributes a
worksheet to every group.
4. Each group is required to
complete the worksheet given
by writing 5 simple sentences
using the verbs given.
5. Teacher discusses the
answer with the students.

1. To tests their
understanding on the
grammar item.

(15 minutes)

Individual activity
(Simon Says)


1. Teacher gathers the
students, facing her in a
semicircle with enough space
to move comfortably.
2. Teacher gives instruction.
3. Teacher calls out a
command such as: Simon says
touch your nose.
4. Students follow the
teachers command.
5. If the teacher calls out a
command, for example, Clap
your hands, without mentioning
Simon says, students who do
the action will be disqualified.
6. The game is continued until
the last student left wins the
game.

1. To enable students
to focus on the
instructions given.
2. To make sure
students understand
the action verb being
said.



Closure
(5 minutes)

1. Teacher plays the song
again.
2. Teacher and students do the
actions according to the song.
3. Teacher recaps on what has
been taught.
4. Teacher praise students.
