Bush Foundation Teacher Education Initiative (TEI) Fall Summit 2014

Guidance for the Poster Session

TEI Project Leads:
In advance of the fall summit, we are asking that the team from each institution of higher education
(IHE) prepare a poster to be featured in an hour-long gallery walk or poster session. The two TEI
consortia, the Valley Partnership and TC2, should also prepare posters that reflect on consortium-level
projects. The poster should reflect on your journey over the last five years in implementing TEI on your
campus and with your partners. We encourage you to collaborate across your institution and among
your partners as you reflect on your TEI journey and prepare the poster. LETS MAKE THIS FUN! More
specific guidance follows below.

Session Format:
The poster session will run from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 18.
The session will be held in the Summit Room at the Saint Paul Hotel. Tables will be set up
around the perimeter of the room. Each team will set up its poster and any supplemental
materialssuch as handouts, resource materials, business cards, treats or giveaway prizesat
one table. With tables for each IHE and consortium, there will be a total of 16 poster tables in
the Summit Room.
Summit attendees will circulate among the posters, posing questions and joining discussions,
throughout the hour.

Poster Content and Graphic Organizer:
Prepare one 36 x 48 poster.
A graphic organizer template for the poster is available at:
http://www.mnstate.edu/sac/posterguidelines.aspx
The poster should highlight up to three of your partnerships most successful projects
implemented to date under the TEI grant (2009-2014). The poster or handout should include
information on lessons learned as well as challenges faced during the development and
implementation of these noteworthy successes. Posters will serve as springboards for deeper
discussion of the TEI journey.
Research findings or evidence to support the success of these projects should also be included
on the poster or in handouts.
Resources and other information presented along with poster should provide attendees with
opportunities to learn more about your projects. Contact information should also be provided
so that attendees can continue discussions initiated at the summit.

Staffing
Each IHE should plan to staff its poster table with at least one person throughout the hour-long
poster session. Consortia should also make plans to staff their tables for the full hour. Teams
may wish to rotate staffing every 15 minutes so that all participants have an opportunity to visit
other tables.
The staff at the poster table should be prepared to answer questions and facilitate discussions
among visitors to the table.
