currently suffering from poverty and want to make a positive
change in their life.

These microloans and other services help to break this cycle of

poverty. The organization mainly focuses on countries in Latin
America because approximately 100 million people live on less
than $2 a day. With two locations in Seattle and Managua, Global
Partnerships currently serves more than 850,000 borrowers within
28 microfinance partner institutions in seven Latin American
countries.

Microfinance is considered to be one of the most effective

solutions to assist the borrowers. In addition to this,
borrowers are able to send their children to school, feed their
families and have access to basic health care.

Global Partnerships aims to maximize the social impact of those

who they currently serve. The organization provides the best in
class microfinance institutions in Latin America by having a
sustainable business model and exhibits a commitment to
improving the lives of the borrowers.

About Lindbergh DECA:

In early May, Lindbergh DECA’s advisor Mr. Kolczynski, on behalf

of Lindbergh DECA, requested a matching donation of $5,000 of the
Rotary Club of Renton. If we are able to raise $5,000 for a
charitable organization of our choice then Renton Rotary will also
match the same amount of money. As a result, our total donation will
be $10,000. As a chapter officer team, we decided to work with
Global Partnerships. Our fundraising efforts will include: a dollar
donation slip, local business donors, a benefit fashion show and a
gymnasium school activity night.
