Air /Water Actuated Boiler Blowdown Valve
Description
The Spirax Sarco BBV980A is used specifically for bottom
blowdown duty on steam boilers. The BBV980A can be air or
water actuated and is also fitted with a hand lever. An internal
scraper ring protects the spindle seals from any deposits on the
stem, ensuring a long maintenance free seal life.
When used with the BT1000 blowdown controller the system
provides timed control of bottom blowdown, ensuring that the
recommended blowdown occurs with the minimum of heat loss
and also avoids duplication and omissions.
The valve can be fitted with a mechanical switchbox. This can be
linked to a BT1000 or a BMS system to indicate when the valve
has not closed.
A " 3-way solenoid valve is required, and may be directly
mounted on the side of the actuator.
Sizes and pipe connections
DN25, DN32, DN40, DN50 and DN65 flanged BS 4504 PN40
or DN32, DN40 and DN50 flanged BS 1560 ANSI Class 300.
(Note: Flanges are not ANSI, but PN40 drilled to suit ANSI flanges)

How to specify
Two port single seat valve suitable for bottom blowdown applications
up to 32 bar. The valve should be water or air actuated with
stellited seats and an internal scraper ring to remove deposits from
the valve stem.
