Technology Integration Plan for Williamson County Academy – by Alicia L. Young (EDLD 5352)

Goals and Rationale

District Technology Goal according to the Georgetown ISD Long Range Plan for Technology: “Our goal is to
create an infrastructure for technology that enhances and facilitates quality teaching and life long learning, educator
preparation, support services and community partnerships in order to prepare students for the global community in
which they will love, learn and work..” (2008)

Campus Technology Goal according to Campus Improvement Plan: “Increase at-risk and economically
disadvantaged student interaction with technology in preparation for careers using smart board equipment and for
improvement of student performance in core academic program.” (2009)

Rationale for creating the technology integration plan: After examining the national, state, district, and campus
goals for technology, the Texas STaR Chart results, and interviewing campus personnel and students, enough
information was gathered to begin creating a technology integration plan specific to the needs, vision, and goals of
the Williamson County Academy. The plan will include the actions identified to meet the needs, the goal for that
action, individuals responsible for carrying out the action, timeline for integration and completion, rationale, and
evaluation and documentation for measuring success.
