What are Mnemonics? Mnemonics are memory aids. They usually are a simple phrase or series of letters that makes it easier to remember certain things. The key to mnemonics is to build a strong association between the mnemonic and for what they stand. Mnemonics take a little bit of practice, but become easier the more you use them. When candidates prepare to undertake examinations the use of mnemonics can be a useful skill to master, this skill is quite useful in the field of health and safety examinations where candidates do tend to have a lot that they have to remember. The mnemonics that follow cover a number, but not all of the key areas of NEBOSH International General Certificate study, and they are no substitute to actually first reading through and understanding the study material.
