Violent video games are blamed for everything, many believe that violent video

games cause people to become violent and do things that they normally
wouldnt, but do they really? No one can know for sure but this problem has
become so bad that there is talk about banning violent video games, however
banning violent video games all together would cause more trouble than good.
Firstly there are already rating systems in place to prevent minors from
purchasing violent or otherwise not suitable video games. This is the !"#

but do most parents follow these guidelines? ,pparently not, a survey was

asked if they bother checking the ratings on video games before allowing their
children to play them and it turned out 234 of all parents who were surveyed
said N' so even if violent video games are making people violent who really is to
blame ?

let the government ban video games while 614 of them said no they shouldnt
because its the parents responsibility to decide what games their children can

8f violent video games were banned all together there would be a number of
problems, one of the ma<or one would be the loss of employment, there are over

studios are some of the worlds leading development studios and have close to

studios would most likely shut down or have to make cut backs, wreaking havoc
on the economy. 0otentially, development studios would also leave the country.

piracy because users are no longer able to obtain the game in a legal manner
and would look for alternate ways of obtaining their favourite games and the @rst

been conducted by leading authorities of medical and science to determine
whether or not violent video games do in fact cause people to become violent,
