How to install the latest 4.4.2 Kitkat rom from Elephone.
Down load the rom from Gizchina link , download the latest sp flash tools versio
n 5.1352.01 ,
down load pdanet-vcom drivers for mt6592 phone.
Open drivers file and extract with 7zip or similar ,
from extracted files run and install ,
turn on USB debugging on phone located in Developer Options in phone settings. P
lug in phone switched on ,
into computer. Follow screen prompts on computer.
When finished disconnect phone from computer , power off phone , remove battery
and reconnect to computer without battery. The vcom drivers will finish installi
ng.
Now go to sp flash tools download file on computer , extract with 7zip or simila
r.
Open extracted files and run and install sp flash tools ( application ).
Sp flash tools console should appear on your screen ,
click on the scatter files create button on the second down on the right side ,
find your Elephone P8 downloaded rom and double click until scatter file shows ,
open , this should take you back to the sp flash tools console.
Now click on the big download arrow , this will load several lines of your scatt
er file.
Plug in your phone with the battery in but phone turned off.
If all goes to plan the install procedure will start , this will take several mi
nutes and when complete will show a big tick on the screen.
Disconnect the phone and remove the battery for about 10 seconds , put the batte
ry in and turn on phone , wait for the new rom to boot.
Be patient it sometimes can take a little longer.
That's it you should have Kitkat on your phone.
If you are having problems , check the vcom drivers are correctly installed ,esp
ecially on windows 8 or 8.1 computers.
I had to swap my USB cabe for a Samsung cable before I could flash the update.

8. plug phone (unpowerd) to USB
No, phone must not be rooted before.

a) If you made backup within "mobile uncle" or "mtk droid tools" it is easy.
Just restore within the program
If not, it is not so easy - but not difficult

There is a Line with "AT+" now write behind EGMR = 1,7, "IMEI_1"' (IMEI_1 is the
number of your IMEI)
In register Phone 2 EGMR = 1,10, "IMEI_2"
Now you restored your IMEI.
To recover IMEI are 3 ways possible.
a) Delete the NVRAM folder and flash secro.img new. Now start phone
b) Use on rooted phone MTK DroidTools
c) Described on some places here in forum..

If your phone is rooted - you may edit build.prop .. change build.type from user
to eng and then go to engineering mode to enable thermal manager.

The provided ZIP is for users, which no want to install within SPFT or want to i
nstall another partition size and so on.
This is no MIUI (I don't like MIUI) this is also no LEWA.
This is a modified original ROM .. the modification is
- rooting
- lk.bin
- switchable partition size
- Carliv Touch Recovery 2.5
- some useful APK
- without Wallpaper bug.
but it is a "near" original ROM.

I installed the N2k1 rom but the battery remains the same. And those bugs still
there

Try to install http://n2k1.com/n2k1/Sesonn_N9000+/lk_install.zip within recovery
.
There is no wiping needed!
