APPEAL FOR SUPPORT
The Civil Engineering Students Society (C.E.S.S) of the University of Lagos was formed in 1970. It is one of the oldest
societal bodies in the University of Lagos. The society is burdened with the academic and social welfare of its
members. Hence, in times past, the above body has organized many programmes to bring our goals to fruition,
ranging from industrial trips and seminars to social and sporting events to make the life of every student studying
Civil Engineering in the University of Lagos more indulging.
To this effect, the body has dedicated a day free of lectures for the students to be a part of a pioneer interactive
symposium tagged 2014 Civil and Environmental Engineering Career Clinic.
Considering this, we hereby write to your company to support us with its products to share amongst the students
who would be coming for the event.
The objectives of the clinic are specifically on the following:
To serve as a medium for students to meet with the corporate society to know what is expected of them
when they complete their degree programs.
To provides motivation for undergraduates towards academic excellence.
To empower, through capacity-building of the Civil Engineer, by delivering/rendering efficient solutions to the
demanding economic needs and demand as a profession related to Civil Engineering.
To enlighten graduating students on employability tips such as interview skills, communication skills among
others.
To promote a new age and new breed of Civil Engineers who must be equipped with technical and
entrepreneurial skills that not only enhance employability, but also make them employers of labour.

Venue: Engineering Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos.
We assure you that your generous contribution will assist in developing students that can effectively liaise
entrepreneurship and technology in the economy. An expected audience size of five hundred (500) persons,
including students from other department.
It is our belief that posterity will reward all effort directed towards developing a better generation and a more stable
