Other Skills : 2.1.1 Able to recognise and articulate initial, medial and final sounds in single syllable words within given context. /eu/ (oa) and /ei/ (ai). 2.1.2 Able to blend two to four phonemes into recognizable words and read them aloud. 2.1.3 Able to segment words into phonemes to spell. Previous Knowledge : (a) Know about the vowels and consonants. Learning Outcomes : At the end of the lesson, students should be able to (a) Read 5 out of 8 words with /eu/ (oa) and /ei/ (ai). (b) Write at least 3 words with /eu/ (oa) and /ei/ (ai). (c) Spell 8 words with /eu/ (oa) and /ei/ (ai).

Revision of Phonemes. (a) Teacher shows the pictures and get students to analogue them with the phonemes.

Step 1 Presentation / Introduction. (15 minutes) Sound Systems /eu/ (oa) and /ei/ (ai) (a) Hold up a letter card and tell pupils the sound. Say, This letter is oa. The sound for oa is /eu/. After that hold up another Resources: Flash cards. Multiple Intelligence: Verbal-linguistic card and tell pupils the sound for ai is /ei/ sound. (b) When the teacher introduce the sound of /ei/, make sure all the students look at the mouth position (the mouth is much more open than the /eu/).
Step 2 Practice (20 minutes) Pronunciation the words with /eu/ (oa) and /ei/ (ai) (a) Get pupils to pronounce the words with /eu/ (oa) and /ei/ (ai). (b) Guide students to do the pair work and check the pronunciation within each other.

Step 3 Production / Assessment (15 minutes) Assessment of /eu/ (oa) and /ei/ (ai) (a) In groups of 5, give the worksheet to each group. (b) Get pupils to differ the words of /eu/ (oa) and /ei/ (ai). (c) Discuss the answer with the students.
