Golden Door
Barranquilla is the capital of the Atlantic department. Is
placed over the Magdalena river. Barranquilla was the
principal entrance point to Colombia for many inmigrants.
Is home of one of the most important celebrations in
Colombia: Barranquillas Carnival, declared oral and
inmaterial patrimonio of humanity by Unesco on 2003.

few white tigers in the

Moving
around
It is better to call a taxi, specially at night. You just have to make sure you have the right adress, sometimes it is asigned
automatically. To correct an adress just call again the same number and you are going to be connected with the operator. Here are
the recommended numbers for you to call:
From your cellphone: #522 or #386. You are not charged for this calls. From a landline: 3222222 or 3868686

You can get a taxi by calling it or in the street. It
cost gets higher the further you go. You must
always ask how much is going to cost the trip,
you can negotiate the price.
Price: from $5000 and on.
You can take a normal one anywhere. Theres
also transmetro on some places, you need a
card for it. Price goes up $100 for buses on
weekends and $100 for transmetro on Sunday.

Moving
around
FOR THE ROAD

You can go to the terminal and get a ticket for
whenever you want to leave, keeping in mind
the shceduled times. This roadtrips tend to be
larger than what is indicated at the terminal and
there are many security points at the road.
Usually, it is the best option for too long
distances. You can fly using your passport or you
foreigner identification.
FOR THE AIR

There are many companies that offer mobile phone service. The price per minute varies acoording to
each company, being the most common one, and as result the cheapest: TIGO.
