Wipro Technologies Limited is a multinational information


technology services corporation headquartered in Bangalore, India. Wipro is the third-largest IT
services company in India and employs more than 98,391 people worldwide as of 2009.[2] It has
interests varying from information technology, consumer care, lighting, engineering and
healthcare businesses. Azim Premji is the Chairman of the board.

WIPRO RECRUITMENT POLICY


Wipro’s HR solution entails end to end Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) model
enveloping sourcing to position closure activities. Wipro’s on-site and off-shore campus
recruitment supports clients in US, India, UK, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Singapore. We work
with campus placement coordinators to source and pre-screen candidates based on required
skills. We help clients on project hiring drives, job fairs, mapping competing organizations,
researching niche job boards etc. We service different verticals (retail, financial, IT) from entry-
level to senior management positions.

Wipro monitors operational metrics, such as, number of candidates sourced, source to interview
ratio, interview to offer ratio, offer to join ratio, as well as business metrics like, average time to
hire, ageing requisitions and cost per hire. Our efficiency has reduced open requirements to half
and contributed 12% to new recruits, for last quarter.

WASEians are people who come straight out of college with a bachelor’s degree either in
science (BSc) or computer applications (BCA). For these people, WASE facilitates an MS
program from BITS Pilani. It pays their tuition fee for eight semesters amounting to Rs.1,40,000
(Rs.17,500 * 4) in all spread across four years.

Wipro also pays stipend – First year Rs.9000 per month, Second year Rs.11,500 per month,
Third year Rs.16,700 per month and Fourth year Rs.21,500 per month.

In all, for four years,

Rs.11,000 (One Time Application fee) +
Rs.1,08,000 (First Year Stipend)+

While a conventional software engineer in Wipro would earn Rs.20,000 first year, Rs.25,000
second year, Rs.28,500 third year and Rs.32,000 fourth year (as per current industry standards).

In all, on a conventional candidate, Wipro spends,


Rs.2,40,000 (First Year Salary) +
Rs.3,00,000 (Second Year Salary) +
Rs.3,42,000 (Third Year Salary) +
Rs.3,84,000 (Fourth Year Salary)
= Rs.12,66,000 (almost 50% more than what it spends on a WASEian).
