CMM:-CORDINATE MEASURING
MACHINE

A coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is a device for measuring the
physical geometrical characteristics of an object. This machine may be
manually controlled by an operator or it may be computer controlled.
Measurements are defined by a probe attached to the third moving axis
of this machine. Probes may be mechanical, optical, laser, or white
light, amongst others. A machine which takes readings in six degrees of
freedom and displays these readings in mathematical form is known as
a CMM.

PROFILE PROJECTOR

A profile projector is also referred to as an optical comparator, or even known as
a shadowgraph, a profile projector is an optical instrument utilized for
measuring. It is a valuable item in a small parts machine shop or manufacturing
line for the quality control assessment staff. The projector magnifies the profile
of the specimen, and shows this on the built-in projection screen.
The projector magnifies the profile of the specimen, and shows this on the built-
in projection screen. From this screen there is usually a grid that could be rotated
360 degrees therefore the X-Y axis of the screen could be aligned correctly using
a straight edge of the machined part to analyze or measure. This projection screen
shows the profile of the sample and is zoomed for better ease of computing linear
dimensions. An edge of the sample to analyze could be aligned using the grid on
the screen. After that, basic measurements could be obtained for distances along
with other points. This is being carried out on a zoomed profile of the specimen.
It could be easier and also lessen mistakes by measuring on the magnified
projection screen of a profile projector.
The conventional way of illumination is by diascopic illumination, and that is
illumination from behind. This kind of illumination is also known as
transmitted illumination when the sample is transparent and light can go
through it. When the specimen is solid, then the light wont go through it, but
can form a profile of the sample. Measuring of the sample can be achieved on the
projection screen. A profile projector could also have episcopic illumination
which happens to be light shining from above. This is convenient in exhibiting
bores or inner areas that needs to be measured.

HEIGHT GAUGE

Height gauges are similar to the calipers in structure and work. We
carry a series of high quality height gauges from digital gauges, dial
gauges to vernier gauges for your select.

These measuring tools are used in metalworking or metrology to either
set or measure vertical distances; the pointer is sharpened to allow it to
act as a scriber and assist in marking out work pieces.

In the toolroom, the distinction between a height gauge and a surface
gauge is that a height gauge has a measuring head (whether vernier,
fine rack and pinion with dial, or linea encoder with digital display),
whereas a surface gauge has only a scriber point. Both are typically
used on a surface plate and have a heavy base with an accurately flat,
smooth underside.

HOW TO IMPROVE THE DRAWING

PART THE DRAWING IN THE SIMPLE
SHAPES.
FIRST DRAW IN AUTOCAD 3D AS THE
DRAWING HAS TO MADE IN THE
AUTOCAD ,AS STEP FILE OPTION IS
PROVIDED SO IT CAN BE OPEN IN ANY
SOFTWARE.
THE COMPUTER SHOULD BE PROVIDED
WITH GOOD PROCESSOR SO THAT
COMPUTER WOULD NOT HANG DURING
HEAVY DESIGN.
THE OPERATOR SHOULD HAVE A GOOD
COMMAND IN SHORTCUT KEYS.

I.E DEPARTMENT

Material Handling Improvement

Material handling refers to activities, equipment, and procedurs related
to the moving, storing, protecting and controlling of material in a
system.

Material Handling is the field concerned with solving the pragmatic
problems involving the movement, storage in a manufacturing plant
or warehouse, control and protection of materials, goods and products
throughout the processes of cleaning, preparation, manufacturing,
distribution, consumption and disposal of all related materials, goods
and their packaging.
[1]
The focus of studies of Material Handling
course work is on the methods, mechanical equipment, systems and
related controls used to achieve these functions. The material handling
industry manufactures and distributes the equipment and services
required to implement material handling systems, from obtaining,

5-steps of Material Handling

1) Develop a plan for every part
2) Build the purchased-part market
3) Design delivery route
4) Implement pull signals
5) Continuously improve the system

Material Handling Means Providing-

1. The right amount
2. The right material
3. At the right place
4. At the right time
5. In the right position
6. In the right sequence
7. For the right cost

Objectives Of M.H

1. Reduce manufacturing cycle time.

2. Reduce delay and damage.

3. Promote safety and improve working
conditions.
4. Maintain and improve product quality.

5. Reduce tare weight.

6. Control inventory.

Production Department

SMED:- Single minute exchange f dies is a system
for dramatically reducing the time it takes to
computer equipment changeover.
single minute exchange of dies comes from the goal of
reducing changeover times to the single digit.

IN SMED changeover are made up of steps that are
termed elements. These are of two types

1. Internal elements
2. External elements

Internal elements:- that must be completed while the
equipment is stopped.

External elements:- That can be completed while the
equipment is running.

CONCLUSION

IT GIVES ME IMMENSE PLEASURE TO SAY THAT I HAVE
SUCESSFULLY UNDERGONE 4 WEEKS INDUSTRIAL
TRANING IN TALBROS AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENT
LIMITED . IT WAS A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE . I
LEARNED A LOT OF NEW THINGS, AND LOT OF NEW
WAYS OF SOLVING A PROBLEM. I WANT TO CONCLUDE
MY REPORT ON A POSITIVE NOTE AND I HOPE THAT THE
EXPERIENCE WHICH I GOT WILL ALSO B FRUITFUL IN
MY CAREER AHEAD.
