)(0 INTRO*UCTION
Unless the turbine shows an abnormal behavior in operation or during the periodic
test (e.g. pressure and temperature changes in the impulse chamber or at the
extraction, bearing oil and metal temperature changes, vibration amplitude changes,
etc.) the ollowing maintenance program is recommended.
ANNUAL MAINTENANCE
The maintenance program will include the ollowing operations!
INSPECTION O+ STEAM VALVES
The normal procedure is to examine annuall" one o the throttle valves and all the
#.$. and L.$. governing valves ever" two "ears.
Li%uid $enetrant or &agnetic $article 'nspection o throttle valve bod" welding.
Li%uid $enetrant or &agnetic $article 'nspection o valve stem
Li%uid $enetrant 'nspection o stellite insert on valve plug and seat.
Chec( o stem bushing clearances.
Chec( o stem or straightness.
'nspection o ilters.
Li%uid $enetrant inspection o valve bonnet studs maintenance, the ollowing
chec(s should be perormed ever" two "ears!
'nspection o non)return valves on extraction lines to L.$. heaters.
*ismantling and overhaul o one +ournal bearing. 't will be chosen the bearing that
during operation has shown imperect conditions, ta(ing into account variations o
white metal temperature and,or vibrations rom normal values.
*ismantling and overhaul o #.$. and L.$. governing valves.
MAINTENANCE EVER, T-REE ,EARS
'n addition to the operations re%uired or annual maintenance, the ollowing chec(s
will be scheduled ever" three "ears!
INSPECTION O+ CONTROL S,STEM
- thorough examination o all control devices is imperative. This will include
disassembl" o each device, cleaning o cup valves, bellows, oriices etc.
