Whats On Your Bucket List? 101 Things To Do Before You Die
Every man dies Not every man really lives. ~ William Ross
The only people who fear death are those with regrets. ~ Author n!nown
% fe# days ago, I #as surfing online #hen I came across someone7s
buc*et list. It $uic*ly inspired me to create my o#n list and #rite an
article about it at the same time.
Whats a Bucket List?
If you haven7t heard about the term 8buc*et list9, it is a list of all the
goals you #ant to achieve, dreams you #ant to fulfill and life
experiences you desire to experience before you die.
Why Create a Bucket List?
If you don7t live your days by personal goals and plans, chances are
you spend most of your time caught up in a flurry of day:to:day activities. Ever feel your days are passing you by #ithout any tangible output to spea*
of; <hat did you accomplish in the past = months; <hat are your upcoming goals for the next = months; >oo* at the things you did and the things
you7re planning to do next . ,o they mean anything to you if you are to die today; Having a buc*et list reminds you of #hat7s really important so you
can act on them.
Even if you fre$uently live by goals or to:do lists, they are probably framed #ithin a certain social context e.g. performance, career, health. % buc*et list
Personal Excellence www.personalexcellence.co
opens up the context. It7s a forum to set anything and everything you7ve ever #anted to do, #hether it7s big, small or random.
It7s -ust li*e planning ahead all the highlights you #ant for 2?@( #hole life. Even though goal setting is already my staple activity, I still found many ne#
things to do #hile I #as #riting on my o#n list. It #as an incredibly insightful exercise. <hat7s more, coming up #ith my list gave me a #hole ne# layer
of enthusiasm *no#ing #hat7s in store ahead!
"he ob-ective of creating this list isn7t to instill some *ind of a race against time or to create aversion to#ard death. I don7t see our existence to be limited
to -ust our physical years on earth . I don7t see our existence to be limited to -ust our physical years on earth . our physical lifespan is but a short spec*
of our existence in the universe.
"he #hole point of creating your list is to maximiAe every moment of our existence and live our life to the fullest. It7s a reminder of all the things #e #ant
to achieve in our time here, so that instead of pandering our time in pointless activities, #e are directing it fully to#ard #hat matters to us.
Create Your Bucket List
If you don7t have a buc*et list, I highly recommend you to create one.
Ho# much #ill it cost; Bero. Ho# long #ill it ta*e; Probably =0 minutes to
an hour, or more if you get really caught up in the #riting. <hat do you
stand to gain; )ignificant clarity and focus on #hat you #ant from your
life. It7s an invaluable exchange!
If you already have your list, ta*e this opportunity to revie# it. )ee if there
are ne# items you #ant to add:on. If so, add them in. Chec* if all the
items listed are still relevant. If not, remove them.
/o#, ta*e out your pen and paper or open up a text document. )tart
