Once again we read in the Holy Gospel about miracles brought about by the Lord speaking His
characteristic phrase: according to your faith, may the miracle be done to you We see therefore how the
miraculous intervention of God in healing disease is also the outcome of the sick persons faith. The
Pharisees were also witnesses to the miracle, but unfortunately they concluded that the source of the
miracle was not the benevolent God, but Satan. Is it possible for them to believe that Christ our Saviour
would have such co-workers? And yet even in our own days we hear of many of the successors of the
Pharisees- rationalists, atheist etc- attempt to persuade us that such miracles were the consequence of
other factors other than the healing power of our Lord. Let us be aware of this prevailing attitude of our
time so that we too do not end up as did the Pharisees.
