FROM THE DESK

Thank you very much to the members of the Management
Committee who attended our Eid Milan dinner. A number of
suggestions were put forward and one which we have been in
demand by members for quite some time is now approved.
a. All new comers can enjoy the first year of PIA membership
free.
b. From February 2015 one event every month will be planned
which will be mainly an outdoor activity in order to facilitate
the settlement of new comers.
It is expected that this will enable us to engage young students and
new migrant families and work with them.
Secondly, a very important note to remember is that if you know of
anyone who faces legal problems which may be of criminal or civil
nature please suggest to them to contact someone immediately.
There are a lot of support systems available in Australia. Most of the
time we are approached when it is already too late and no help could
be offered. We ensure the privacy of individuals and confidentiality so
please feel free to write.
Best Wishes

Congratulations to the two Nobel Prize winners for the year 2015.Malala has emerged as the voice of young
girls from Pakistan and this honour is perhaps attributed to all the teachers specially ladies in Khyber
Pakhtunkhawa province of Pakistan who despite all the threats to their families and themselves are
determined to provide education to the children for a better Pakistan.
The state of public schools is also deplorable in a number of areas and the latest initiative is an excellent
opportunity for anyone who is interested to make this world a better place for those who have no access to
education. https://www.tameer-e-school.pk/
At the same time there is also a feeling among Pakistanis that our national figure Sattar Edhi who is the
founder of biggest ambulance network, philanthropist, social activist and humanitarian that even criminals in
Pakistan respect has been devoid of receiving nobel prize. This is one example of a social foundation that has
purely survived on the donations and not one penny from government funding. Bestowed upon all the
honors that one can receive in Pakistan as well as a doctorate, there is no match to his contribution to serve
humanity. It is perhaps time that the Karachi University should be named after him.

Child Health And Education Foundation has so far installed 160 Water Hand Pumps along with a SOLAR LIGHT
(Lantern) costing us just Rs. 1,000/- or only US $ 10 to bring the light in the darkness for the poor people.

AUSTRALIA AWARDS ALUMNI ELECTIONS
The elections were cancelled by the organisation giving bogus voting and fraudulent activities as a reason.
The new dates will be announced soon. A majority of members have expressed disappointment and it is
expected that the organisation needs to make the report public as to how many out of about 153 votes
were fraudulent and how come the management was unable to verify the voters before elections.
