With the development of effective water treatments and plant-based bath additives and
remedies, Sebastian Kneipp revolutionised naturopathy. Today, the name Kneipp still

Dr. Frank, can you briefly explain the effect of
water on the human body?
Water is the elixir of all life on earth. Water can calm, energise,
warm and cool it has a variety of different functions that are
of great benefit to the human body and spirit. In addition, water
quickly and effectively brings about temperature changes in
individual parts of the body, including the skin and underlying
tissue: this improves the circulation in these parts of the body
and also has a remote effect on more distant parts of the
body and internal organs. Kneipp therapy uses this effect.
How can we integrate the positive effects of water
into our normal everyday lives that are often
characterised by the lack of time, stress and a hectic
pace?
The most important thing is to think outside the box! Often,
what appears as a lack of time is actually just a question of priori-
tising activities: if we only measure the value of the day by what
we have actually done, then its not surprising that we end the day
feeling totally exhausted. A bath in particular invites us to take
time out and to forget the stress and hectic nature of life. This is
because, when we have a bath, we allow ourselves a little more
time and indulgence than when we have a quick shower. However,
it takes just two minutes for a simple Kneipp treatment: for exam-
ple, when taking your morning shower, cold lower leg affusions,
facial affusions or even full-body affusions. Youll then be ready
to tackle anything. Its always important to maintain the balance
between stress and tranquilty and pleasure!
When planning their bathroom, many people dont
want a bath because they dont actually take a bath
very often and would rather use the space for
something else. What do you think about that?
Thats a great shame! And it costs a lot of money to put it right!
A bath should be the centrepiece of a beautiful bathroom. It creates
a small wellness oasis within your own four walls, something that
gives you pleasure every day: in the long-term, it provides greater
value than mini-breaks in wellness temples. If you dont have a
bath, you cant enjoy the relaxing and beneficial experience of
bathing, nor can you enjoy the soothing effects baths have on
illnesses such as colds or rheumatism.
So do you always have to take a full bath?
Not at all. However, in the case of rheumatic complaints, muscular
tension in the shoulder and neck area and colds, I believe that
only full baths will provide effective relief. Hot full baths are also
said to help alleviate stress, counteract the effects of a hectic life
and aid sleep. On the other hand, if enjoyed for anything from
just a few seconds to a few minutes, cool or cold baths provide
refreshment on hot days. Arm baths, lower leg or thigh affusions
are a time-saving alternative for improving the overall circulation,
helping counteract varicose veins or high or low blood pressure,
as well as for preventing arteriosclerosis.
A full bath alone works wonders. So what can
whirlpool systems and bath additives do? How do

Zonal massage
This extra offers an optimised massage with varying pressure. Compared with
a massage with constant sensory stimulation, the skin remains sensitive for
longer the massage is perceptibly more intense and has a longer lasting effect.
The beneficial zonal massage has two settings: the motion of individual jets
allows the intermittent pulsation of the airflow from individual base and side
jets. The wave motion allows the intermittent pulsation of the airflow from
all base and side jets. For completely individual relaxation, the massage mode
can be regulated at various speeds and fixed at any setting.
Air Royale
ULTIMATE FITNESS is available as standard with 12 base jets and WHISPER
with 8 base jets. For a more comprehensive massage, the AIR ROYALE option
increases the number of base jets to 24; these are densely distributed to optimum
effect over the entire base of the bath so that thousands of tiny air bubbles
create a bubbling champagne effect on contact points over the whole body with
a pleasant, relaxing effect on the skin.
Back and foot jets
This option is ideal in the case of tense neck muscles or slight back problems, for
example, after a tiring day at the office: for an optimum full-body massage,
10 flat SOFT TOUCH massage jets in soft grey are integrated in the bath. 6 back
jets and 4 foot jets, each is individually adjustable and closable.
The back and foot jets are linked with the function of the side jets and can be
set at any of three settings:
Large opening top: an intense mix of air and water streams out of the
jet optimum for a localised massage
Large opening on right: the jet is closed, the massage pressure increases on
the other jets ideal for a local lower back or foot massage
Large opening below: the jet emits five small gentle streams of air and
water the result is a pleasant massage

Comfort Heating
The COMFORT HEATING system which is available for the whirl- and combined
air-and-water massage systems ensures a uniform bathing temperature with
a constant flow of hot water from the jets. With the whirlpool system activated,
the water temperature remains constant and at a perfect level for maximum pleasure.
Underwater lighting and Magic Light
The underwater lighting creates a luxurious atmospheric light with two white
LED spotlights. The very flat design of the spotlights guarantees easy-care
properties. With its individually controllable light in various colours, the MAGIC
LIGHT system extends the relaxation repertoire to include the proven positive
effect of coloured light on body and soul. It is integrated discreetly and aesthetically
in both Quaryl
and acrylic baths.

Aromatherapy with mist effect
This accessory creates a finely scented, indulgent mist effect: mist flows out
of the overflow of the whirlpool and spreads over the surface of the water. The
aromatic essences have a beneficial effect on both the mind and body, for
example, the respiratory passages. A starter set with four carefully chosen scents
is provided as a complimentary extra.
Viega Multiplex Trio inlet, outlet and overflow
Water cant flow more soundlessly: the combined inlet, outlet and overflow
can be factory-fitted in all Villeroy&Boch whirlpools and is available in the
same colour as the visible parts including an optional pipe interrupter.
VIEGA MULTIPLEX TRIO cannot be installed in combination with the
aromatherapy option.
Water temperature indicator
The exact water temperature is displayed this enables specific temperature-controlled
water consumption. In addition, the cleaning cycle, stepless adjustment and
massage settings are also displayed. The water temperature indicator is only available
in combination with COMFORT CONTROL (see page 30).

3. Individual panelling: select your preferred panel material. The five

Atmospheric highlight. The optional lighting for the MY ART EMOTION

In line with the latest trends, a variety of Villeroy&Boch acrylic baths can now be panelled with PROFIBOX in a modern,
reduced form. The new apron solution harmoniously integrates rectangular baths in modern bathroom design. All current
bath sizes can be fitted with just two different, adjustable frames. The extra clear and simple assembly instructions enable
assembly of the entire PROFIBOX system in as little as about 15 minutes.
The design features particular stability and
durability. Thanks to the well thought-out
packaging, the PROFIBOX systems can
also be stored compactly. PROFIBOX is
available for baths from the SUBWAY,
OMNIA and REBANA ranges and
is also suitable for panelling these baths,
including those with a whirlpool system.

for selected rectangular and offset Quaryl
baths. UNITED enables absolutely individual,

creative bathroom design and consists of
a high-quality aluminium frame with a visible

Glossy White and Pearlwood, they are
perfectly matched to successful furniture
programmes and, at the same time, allow

The UNITED panel system can also be used

the panelling is just a few centimetres wider.

Vilbox bath support for rectangular and hexagonal baths
Villeroy&Boch offers the ideal installation aid for assembling and tiling a bath: the specially developed VILBOX bath support
in two forms matches almost all rectangular and hexagonal baths from Villeroy&Boch. With VILBOX, the bath can be either
wall-mounted or fitted as a free-standing unit, stabilised and then tiled immediately afterwards with tremendous ease in just
a few efficient steps. The waterproof and moisture-resistant panels from the WEDI company are available in universal sizes
and can be easily cut to size for baths up to a depth of 500 mm. This means that VILBOX is also highly suitable for special
baths with narrow edges, such as SQUARO or CETUS. The practical packaging is a particular advantage for transport, compact
storage and carrying. VILBOX, together with all the necessary assembly elements, is supplied in a flat box barely 10 cm high.
The VILBOX panels are available in a universal size and can be cut to the desired bath dimensions:

Installation set for oval baths
With the bath installation set from Villeroy&Boch, assembling free-standing oval baths is childs play. No planning stress, no
building waste, no wobbly aids. In addition to a complete polystyrene support in six parts, the set also includes assembly foam
to compensate for uneven floors, the special VIEGA combined outlet and overflow and detailed assembly instructions.

Multibox for whirlpool systems
With MULTIBOX, Villeroy&Boch offers a completely pre-installed system for easy panelling of baths with whirlpool systems
it is individually height adjustable. The self-supporting structure greatly facilitates installation since it eliminates the need for
a supporting wall and can be tiled immediately. The front panel can be opened up at any time to provide easy access to the
technical components, which means there is no need for a separate inspection opening. Furthermore, MULTIBOX is designed
so that air can circulate without a visible ventilation grate.

Multibox rectangle: projection of 5 cm on one side and one end
Multibox oval: projection of 5 cm on all four sides
Multibox hexagon: side length 8 cm longer

Care tips & hygiene information
Acrylic and Quaryl
surfaces are extremely easy to clean as they are pore-free and seamlessly smooth. For the surfaces to retain
their brilliance, all that is needed is regular treatment with a sponge and a liquid cleaning agent that is also suitable for
synthetics, such as acrylic.
Limescale deposits and loss of shine are easily eliminated with vinegar-based or special limescale cleaners. Alkaline cleaning
agents, such as standard washing-up liquid, can be used to remove substances that leave greasy marks.
Slight damage, such as scratches, to the acrylic with full-body colouring can be removed using standard repair sets or
polishing paste. Via their local dealer, customers can also contact the Villeroy&Boch Customer Services, which operates
throughout Germany.
Wood elements have a waterproof coating as standard but should simply be wiped with a dry cloth after taking a bath.
Thanks to the high technical standard from Villeroy&Boch, the whirlpool systems offer optimum hygiene. In addition,
all whirlpool jets can be easily removed and cleaned.

Safety & guarantee
Safety and hygiene
The whirlpools from Villeroy&Boch meet the highest safety and hygiene requirements. To guarantee hygiene, some models
are fitted with special jets or have a fully automatic cleaning system. This is activated automatically when the bathwater has
emptied. The lines are then blown dry with air. Blowdrying can also be activated manually, for example, if water gets into the
system during cleaning. To guarantee safe operation, all water-based whirlpool systems are fitted with a special hair trap.
This ensures that there is no water intake if the outlet is blocked. All systems are fitted with a level sensor to prevent dry
running to ensure that the whirlpool cannot be switched on if there is no water in the bath. All whirlpool systems carry the
KEMA mark of conformity. Of course, all systems also feature the CE logo. Quaryl
products from Villeroy&Boch are also

TV-approved. In addition, all functions of each whirlpool system are tested extensively in the factory. Please also observe
the cleaning and care instructions in the operating instructions.
Warranty
In the case of private use, Villeroy&Boch guarantees all whirlpool systems for 3 years and the remote control facility for
2 years. For showers, the following guarantee periods apply: 2 years for shower enclosures, tap fittings, technology and glass.
All acrylic baths and shower trays have a 10-year guarantee as well as all Quaryl
baths and shower trays.

Whirlpool unit
All Villeroy&Boch whirlpool systems are fully pre-installed at the factory. The technical units are installed in such a manner
as to avoid any projections beyond the dimensions of the bath. With most systems, all the technical elements are mounted on
a vibration-reducing base.
