Keeping up with the ever-changing industrial power landscape
requires a reliable and versatile machine that can provide
peace of mind in an industry that is forever demanding more.
Operators are striving to achieve higher efficiency, cleaner
energy production and increased reliability, all while maintaining
low overall life cycle costs.
The 6F.01 Gas Turbine meets these needs like no other, providing
low-cost electricity production in a broad range of heat recovery
applications for both 50 Hz and 60 Hz applications. These include:
industrial cogeneration for process industries, district heating for
municipalities and mid-sized combined cycle grid support.
Building on GEs F-Class Legacy
GE introduced F-class technology (2300F to 2600F firing
temperature) nearly three decades ago. Today, GE has the worlds
largest F-class fleetover 1,100 units in 58 countriesmore than
all other manufacturers combined.
GE was the first F-class supplier to achieve 99.4 percent yearly
reliability and the first to reach 1 million starts. This global expertise,
along with robust research and development programs, continues
to make GE a supplier of choice for F-class technology in both the
50 Hz and 60 Hz markets. Nearly 50 percent of all the F-class units
sold today bear the GE name.
Product Evolution and Experience
Originally introduced as the 6C Gas Turbine in 2003 at 42 MW and
upgraded to 46 MW in 2005 after site validation, the two fleet
leader units have accumulated more than 110,000 operating
hours in combined cycle.
Now renamed the 6F.01 Gas Turbine, the unit output has been
boosted to 50 MW through system level enhancements. The
6F.01 Gas Turbine is part of an experienced fleet of F-class
turbines that has accumulated more than 50 million hours of
operation across all operating cycles and applications.
Technologies from GEs vast power generation experience
continue to drive the development of cutting-edge solutions like
the 6F.01 Gas Turbine that push the performance envelope and
usher in new standards of operational flexibility.
Features and Benefits
Air-cooled hot gas path and dual fuel capability promote
operational flexibility.
Proven Dry Low NO
x
(DLN) combustion system complies with
emission requirements, lengthens combustion inspection
intervals, and enables turndown to 40 percent.
6F.01 Gas Turbine Efficiency Leader for Cogeneration and Industrial Applications
Combined Cycle Power Plant in Turkey
More than 55 percent efficient in combined cyclethe highest
efficiency in the under 100 MW gas turbine space.
12-stage compressor with field removable blades increases
reliability and ease of maintenance; three stages of compressor
guide vanes for high efficiency at part load.
Low compression ratio helps avoid need for gas compression
from the gas pipeline and allows for high exhaust temperature
for increased steam cycle efficiency.
High turbine speed (7250 rpm) allows for increased compressor
flow and output while enabling a more compact design.
GEs patented Mark* VIe Integrated Control System (ICS)
connects plant components with a single, high-performance,
control architecture, enabling comprehensive plant
automation schemes.
Ease of installation, maintenance, and modularitycombined
with a shorter commissioning cycleprovides improved
life cycle value.
Full Suite of Service Offerings
Extended warranty and a full suite of service offerings are available
on the 6F.01 Gas Turbine, including long-term service agreements
with availability and reliability guarantees, improved maintenance
intervals, and performances. Fleet spares are also maintained prior
to first fire in the field.
