air-conditioned vehicle.

-n the way to +,mes, you will have lunch in a typical Proven.al restaurant
where you will taste freshly-caught /sh and%or a variety of other local and
traditional dishes. This unique culinary experience will be enriched by the
beautiful view overlooking the !editerranean 0ea.
3'3pm $ 4'3pm& +isit to ,ine)ma-ing cooperative La Venise Provenale in
!artigues
This wine-making cooperative produces the Appellation d'Origine Protge
des Cteaux d'Aix en Provence. The visit will take the form of a tour which
will be led by a knowledgeable member of sta1. 2ou will then be introduced
to the locally produced wines and the tour will culminate in a wine and grape
3uice tasting session.

&fter breakfast, we will venture into the centre of the historic 5oman town of
+,mes to observe the architecture, which dates back 6*** years. The
highlights of this visit will be the 5oman &renas, the Tour !agne and the
!aison 7arr8e, all of which are situated in the middle of the city.

wine tasting
This winery was founded in ;)6< at the heart of the 7osti9res de +,mes area.
=uring our visit, we will become acquainted with the beverage :elvedim>s, which
acquired its name from a neighbouring village :eauvoisin' in the ;6th century.
2ou will taste some nice, light and fruity wines, which are most refreshing during
the hot summer months.

For those who like to cook and more importantly to eat, this day will get o1 to the
perfect start. ?nder the tutelage of 78dric :ernard, you will have the opportunity
to prepare your own French @aster lunch in a professional and festive
environment. &t the end of the session, you can en3oy the fruit of your e1orts in a
friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
2'3pm)4'pm& *uided tour of the (as de 2ourelles cellar, followed by a
wine tasting
This will be an event of exceptional interest as the techniques, storage facilities
and bottles used at the !as de Tourelle are the same as those employed by the
5omans thousands of years ago. 2ou will even be able to observe some 5oman
wine-related remains that were unearthed on the site during excavations. &s a
result, this visit is a must on the Proven.al to-do listA the wine has a remarkably
distinctive taste and the atmosphere of the cellar is very di1erent to that of other

This is the biggest 5oman construction outside of (taly, and a sunset over such a
splendid feat of engineering will be the perfect climax to our 5oman-themed
afternoon. The sunset will provide a stunning backdrop to the site, allowing you to
fully absorb the atmospheric tranquillity of the beautiful landscape.

!'3am)!2'3pm& +isit of the Salins d4Aigues)(ortes salt production site'
The 0alins d>&igues-!ortes is a unique wetland area located within a carefully
preserved ecosystem of exceptional biodiversity. & miniature train will take you on
an hour-long 3ourney around the 0alt !arshes, where you will discover how the
salt is made and why the seawater is pink in colour before the harvest. The train
will stop o1 at the 0alt !useum, which contains information on the salt-working
profession, the tools of the trade and much more.

-ur /nal meal will be composed of 7amargian specialities and locally-produced
