RATIONALE The first step in achieving success is knowing oneself and being known for that very identity. As the official arm in handling Freshie initiatives, it is necessary for the University Freshie Council to develop a strong and clear brand that would resonate throughout the Freshie public: making known to them what the UFC stands for and encouraging them to take part and be part of crafting a story for service. No more will Freshies ask what the UFC is for they are what the UFC stands for.
A.L.L.OUT Accessible, Long-lasting, and Outstanding UFC VISION A University Freshman Council with a relatable identity that the Freshies can claim as their own and identify with. MISSION To utilize the different avenues of connecting with the freshman students of UP Diliman in order to establish a stronger link between the council and the freshmen. GOAL Empowering each and every Freshie ng Bayan to take part and be part of an avenue to realize their full potentials as Iskolar ng Bayan para sa Bayan.
GENERAL PLAN OF ACTION As the University Freshman Council Public Relations Officer, I aim to: Provide the University Freshman Council with a concrete identity that will be easily recognized by the Freshie students of UP Diliman Brand the University Freshman Council as a visible and active student government in serving the Freshie students of UP Diliman Bridge the gap and form long-lasting ties between the University Freshman Council and the freshmen students of UP Diliman Maintain accessibility and visibility of the University Freshman Council in all its activities and campaigns. Ensure the positive reputation and public image of the University Freshman Council Be the prime source of relevant information to every freshman student of UP Diliman
SPECIFIC PLANS OF ACTION Brand Manual This manual will contain information about the fixed general design for the pubmats, and the general feel of the University Freshie Council that will be used for all materials that will be released by the council. This will help establish the identity of the University Freshie Council as a council which strives to empower the freshmen students to voice out their opinions and be the best that they can be through the structure of the materials the council releases. Amped UP During important events especially those concerning the freshmen students, a freedom wall would be erected in different colleges. Students are given a chance to voice out their opinions and thoughts about that specific event/issue. This will give the freshmen students a chance to give their opinions in different events/issues that are concerning them. It will help them translate their thoughts into words and promote their right to speak for themselves. ISKO-lastika Workshops featuring unique skills honed by various colleges to be held for freshmen students. This is to be headed by professionals in various fields of expertise (Basic Journalism, Creative Writing, Film Editing, Finance and Accounting, Ethnography, Research, etc) in order for Freshies to be well rounded This will be done in partnership with the college representatives to the University Freshman Council. ISKO-graphics Infographics about freshman-related issues and events will be posted on the University Freshman Council page that will be of help to the freshmen students of UP Diliman. This will be done in partnership with the college representatives, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, and Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs. UFC Tidbits Updates concerning the freshies will also be posted on the University Freshman Council page group in order for them to be knowledgeable of whats happening in UP Diliman. This is also to maintain the transparency of the University Freshie Council in all its campaigns and activities. Freshie Balita & Literary Folio At the end of the academic year, a newsletter summarizing all the events that transpired that year will be published and given to freshies. A literary folio of the best outputs during the college-differentiated workshops and voluntary contributions of freshmen students will also be compiled and published. These will serve as their memory of what their freshie year had been and as a living proof that their first year in UP Diliman is as fruitful as their next years in the university would be. This is to be done in partnership with the University Student Council and media outlets of the university. Freshie Awareness Campaign In an attempt to revamp the UFC page and raise awareness about the UFC, the UFC Publicity Committee would be releasing Freshie related items that are of interest to the Freshie general public University Freshman Council Photoshoot UFC photo shoot with write-ups to introduce the officers to the Freshie public FreshieKAt! An online campaign featuring Freshies who have accomplished notable achievements that have brought honor to the University Freshies of Diliman An online photo journal of Freshies taking insipiration from Humans of New York which would feature random topics concerning University life of Freshies #KwentongFreshie A video series featuring Freshie stories from freshies and upperclassmen focusing on specific categories (#KwentongFreshie sa CASAA, sa Sunken Garden, sa PE, etc)
