Why prayer is necessary....
People's endeavour at present only applies to atter! and this
eans a standstill o" spiritual developent. #here is a danger that
the huan $eing %ill regress i" he %ill not &oe to re&ognise his
state o" poverty! "or God's adversary is trying to pull the souls do%n
in order to %in the "or hisel" &opletely. 'nd the ore he
su&&eeds the harder it $e&oes to es&ape "ro hi again and turn
to%ards higher spheres.
#he huan $eing's %ill is %ea(ened and &an only &hange %ith
God's help! %hi&h &ategori&ally re)uires &alling upon *i "or help.
'nd this a(es prayer there"ore the "irst and ost iportant
re)uireent....
's long as the huan $eing is still a$le to pray he is not hopelessly
lost! sin&e every call for strength in spiritual adversity will be
answered! and i" the huan $eing &an no longer re&ognise the
spiritual adversity he is in! %hi&h is also due to the adversary's
in"luen&e! and thus ignores the $lessing o" prayer! he %ill then $e
led $y God into situations %hi&h %ill a(e hi realise his o%n
helplessness in earthly di""i&ulties! so that he %ill then ta(e his
re"uge in prayer and &all upon God in his adversity.
*e is al%ays ready to help! *e %ill not deny *is support to any
petitioner! *e gives strength to the %ea( and alleviates every
adversity! $ut *e %ants that *is help shall $e &ons&iously desired+
He wants the human being come to Him as a petitioner,
$e&ause this is the adission o" his la&( o" po%er and strength!
%hi&h God has to deand o" the $eing %hi&h had on&e! in
arrogan&e! in &ons&ious a%areness o" its po%er! turned a%ay "ro
the One "ro Who it had re&eived its strength.
#he $eing shall $e&oe a re&ipient o" strength again as it had $een
in the very $eginning! nevertheless it shall %or( %ith and not in
opposition to God! and there"ore it "irst has to realise that it is an
utterly %ea( $eing %ithout God's love! in order to otivate it to ,oin
God again! "ro Who it had voluntarily distan&ed itsel".
#here"ore the unity %ith God has to ta(e pla&e in "ree %ill again!
and there"ore the $eing &annot $e given strength against its %ill.
But it is e-pressing its %ill through prayer! through the desire to $e
given strength! %hi&h God %ill al%ays "ul"il. For *e only %ants to $e
a&(no%ledged as the Giver o" strength and that the $eing a$andons
its "orer resistan&e through prayer and %illingly see(s to unite
%ith God again! so that it then &an $e pereated $y God's strength
and thus $e&oe a re&ipient o" strength on&e ore! as it %as
originally destined to $e....
