About this course

This five-day intensive course enables participants to develop the necessary
expertise to support an organization in implementing and managing an Asset
Management System (AMS) based on ISO 55001:2014. Participants will also be
given a thorough grounding in best practices used to implement asset
management processes based on requirements from ISO 55001 and supported by
the PAS 55 guidance. This training is consistent with the project management
practices established in ISO 10006 (Quality Management Systems - Guidelines
for Quality Management in Projects). This training is fully compatible with ISO
55002 guidances (Asset management -- Management systems -- Guidelines for
the application of ISO 55001).

Day 1: Introduction to Asset Management System (AMS) concepts as
required by ISO 55001
- Introduction to management systems and the process approach
- Presentation of the standards ISO 55000, ISO 55001, ISO 55002, PAS 55
and regulatory framework
- Fundamental principles of Asset management
- Preliminary analysis and establishment of the maturity level of the existing
Asset Management System
- Writing a business case and a project plan for the implementation of a AMS

Day 2: Planning a AMS based on ISO 55001
- Definition of the scope of a AMS and asset portfolio
- Definition of asset management policy and objectives
- Development of a AMS, asset management policy and SAMP
- Planning (and plans) for achieving asset management objectives
- Planning for managing the assets life cycle
- Asset risk management using the ISO 31000 framework

Day 3: Implementing a AMS based on ISO 55001
- Resources and Information requirements
- Implementation of a document management framework
- Design of asset management processes and writing procedures
- Implementation of asset management processes
- Development of a training & awareness program and communicating about
the asset management
- Operations management of an AMS. Change Management and Outsourcing
Day 4: Controlling, monitoring and measuring
and improving a AMS and certification audit of
a AMS
- Controlling and Monitoring a AMS
