Installation
Administrator rights are needed to perform a successful installation. Initiate SETUP.EXE on the CD
and follow the instructions on the screen until the installation is completed.

User Groups with Limited Rights
Installation needs to be performed by a member of a user group with writing permission to
Windows\System.

In order to use PVTsim it is necessary to have writing permission to the folder where PVTsim is
installed. The default installation folder for PVTsim is
C:\Program Files\PVTsim 13\
but this causes a problem if the end user belongs to a user group that does not have writing permission
to the Program Files folder. To avoid this problem it is possible to install PVTsim in a different
directory. When running the setup program for PVTsim, the second screen in the installation procedure
is called "Select Features". The folder specified in the frame "Destination folder" is going to be the
installation folder, by clicking "Browse" this can be changed to a new folder outside the Program Files
folder, for example
C:\PVTsim 13\
where the end user has writing permission.

How to obtain a license file for a license server
Copy FLEXlm\LMGRD.EXE and FLEXlm\CALLMD.EXE to c:\FLEXlm on the license server. From
the CD run the program FLEXlm\LMTOOLS.EXE, also from the license server. Click on Hostid. Save
the text to a file. Attach the saved file to an e-mail to plc@calsep.com. You will then receive an e-mail
from Calsep with two license files. One is to be placed on the license server and the second one is to be
placed on the client PCs.

How to configure a license server service using LMTOOLS
On the license server run lmtools. Click the Service/License File tab. Choose Configuration using
Services. Click the Config Services tab. In the Service Name field enter a name for the service.
Enter the path to the lmgrd, the license file and the log file. Check the Start Server at Power up
option. Check the Use Services option. Click on Save Service.

How to obtain a license file for an individual PC
From the CD run the program FLEXlm\LMTOOLS.EXE. Click on Hostid. Save the text to a file.
Attach the saved file to an e-mail to plc@calsep.com. You will then receive an e-mail from Calsep
with a license file to be placed on the actual PC.

How to configure a client to use a server service configured using LMTOOLS
On the Client start lmtools, click Service/License File. Choose Configuration using License File.
Write the path to the license file.
