Project 1: OMCS – COATS (In IBM)

Role : Production support team member

The Customer Order Analysis and Tracking System (COATS), a mainframe based legacy
system is used to control various processes within manufacturing, including the translation of
an order from sales to manufacturing nomenclature. As functionality within COATS moves to
Service Components, the application's name will change to 'Order Management Component
Services' (OMCS). Order Management Component Services (OMCS) is a replacement web
application for the COATS application. It has a front-end web access along with batch request
processing. Both online and batch process through the same workflows, access web services
and if database updates are required, communicate to legacy via CICS XML to run CICS legacy
programs. Most of the Application’s Inward and Outward interfaces are done using Web
Services, MQ Series and XML.

Activities during the project:

1. Involving in Analysis, Coding and testing activities for Change requests.


2. During testing, testing functionality of various test cases, filling the results with
screenshots and sending to the Customer.
3. During Production support :
a. Monitoring the Application to see that everything is fine.
b. Creating Support requests in case of new errors/exceptions.
c. Following with Analysts about the solutions to the Service requests assigned

Project 2: GEFA-LAMPS (In PATNI)

Genworth Financial, LYNCHBURG uses Cyberlife administration system to administer over


2.5 million Life Insurance policies for its associate companies. The project involved addressing
Cyberlife post conversion issues, making enhancements to Cyberlife system to implement
changes in the business processes and developing interfaces for various other subsystems.

Various activities carried out in the project are:

• New Product Introduction - Customizing Cyberlife system for introduction of new life insurance
products.
• Working on Service requests and change requests as to make system enhancements to support
changes in business processes, regulations etc.
• Production support - Responsible for working on Production Batch cycle.

Project 3: Process Improvement & Efficiency Strategy (In PATNI)

Conseco is one of Middle America's leading sources for Insurance, Investment and Lending
products. Process Improvement Efficiency and Strategy deals with the surrendering part of the
Life Insurance policy. This project covers maintenance & enhancement of applications
previously delivered as well as development of newer applications such as surrenders,
reinstatements etc.

• Interacting with the client on various forums to discuss the status of the project, clarify
any queries regarding the functionality etc
