authorization of CONSPLICE after installation.
Note: Please read this installation memo completely before performing the actual installation. To re-authorize the
application, you will be required to kill your existing license to obtain a new site key.

The program installation file, the installation and engineering memorandums, and the User Manual (PDF) are
available at the LEAP Software web site at www.leapsoft.com. To download the program:
1. Log in to the Customer Area by entering your User Name and Password (provided on the e-mail
notification sent to you).

4 . Select Yes for any security alerts, and select the option: Save this program to a temporary location on
your disk such as (c:\Temp\LEAP\CONSPLICE).

prepare for the installation.
Installing CONSPLICE v1.2
Before proceeding to the upgrade installation, you must complete the following steps:
Note: It is recommended to reboot your system after installation of the application.
1. Make a backup copy of the modified default libraries (*default.cs1, default.cs2, default.cs3, and
default.cs4 files) by copying the files to a different location, other than the original CONSPLICE folder.
Note that this version of CONSPLICE makes use of new versions of the tendon and strand libraries. Any
changes you may have made to your previous libraries will need to be entered into the new libraries.
2. Launch the existing version of CONSLPICE and select the Security command from the File menu. Go to
the Kill License tab and click Kill License Now. Select Yes, to any warning messages. Copy and save the
kill license confirmation number (26 alphanumeric digits). The kill license confirmation number is
required in the online authorization management process which is described in the Authorization of
CONSPLICE v1.2.0.
IMPORTANT: Please save the kill code as it is required to generate a new license.
3. Uninstall the previous version of CONSPLICE from Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove
Program.
WARNING: Do not delete any files directly! If you are prompted with any error messages during this
uninstall process, go to next step.

4. Delete the Consplice folder.
5. Go to the temporary folder where the installation download was placed and run Consplice.exe and follow
the on-screen instructions. It is recommended to install the program at the same location where the
previous version of CONSPLICE was installed (the location noted above).
6. After the installation is complete, the Consplice.exe can be deleted from the temporary location.
NOTE: The above steps, with the exception of the kill license, will need to be performed at each workstation where
CONSPLICE is installed.
7. Reboot the system before authorizing the program.
8. After installation of CONSPLICE, the software will need to be re-authorized. Refer to Authorization of
CONSPLICE v1.2.0 for instructions.
Authorization of CONSPLICE v1.2.0
LEAP Software is introducing a new method of online software authorization, which allows users greater control
over the authorization process. All you need is a registered primary contact for Electronic authorization. (Contact:

NOTE: Each Company now has a Primary Contact for Electronic authorization who is authorized to log into the
online Authorization application and manage the site keys.

provided in your upgrade email.
2. Click the link for Online Authorization. Log in (Using primary contact credentials.) and click Manage
Site Keys for the product being upgraded.

confirmed, the license is released for re-authorization. NOTE: After killing the license the authorize
button will be available.
4. On your computer, start the program from the Start menu. When the program asks Would you like to
authorize CONSPLICE at this time? Select Yes. Complete the information on the Company Information
screen and go to the Authorization tab.
5. Select and copy the site code from the Authorization tab.
6. Go back to the Online Authorization web site. Click Authorize. Paste the site code and enter the number
of license under User Count. Click Get Site Key. Your new site key is displayed.

Engineering
The complete installation package contains the CONSPLICE application (via download from the LEAP Software
web site), an Installation/Engineering Memo, the CONSPLICE User Manual (PDF), and the CONSPLICE Tutorials
(PDF). This memo describes the enhancements and engineering corrections included with CONSPLICE v1.2.0.
CONSPLICE v1.2.0 includes an updated user interface and incorporates modifications in response to suggestions
and feedback from customers.
Enhancements
! The CONSPLICE graphical user interface (GUI) has been updated. Grids and dialogs have been revised
incorporating a more user-friendly style and behavior. Feedback on data entry errors is now more immediate
with cell by cell data validation.
Corrections
! An issue was corrected which caused the spacing of the axle immediately following the variable axle on
variable axle trucks to be incorrectly set to the maximum variable axle spacing
! An issue was corrected which caused the girder stem width of the Open Box Beam sections to be determined
incorrectly for some girder shapes. The width of the girder stem was assumed equal to the section variable W2.
It is now computed as the horizontal width of the stem at a height halfway between the bottom of the top flange
and the top of the bottom slab
! Corrected a problem with deleting stages causing data file to become corrupted.
! Corrected a problem with deleting temporary supports which caused the incorrect support to be deleted.
! Corrected a problem with entering variable cross section beyond the length of the beam causing a program
crash. The new grid now restricts data so that incorrect data values cannot be entered.
User Manual
CONSPLICE v1.2.0 features a fully updated user manual available in PDF format. Adobe Reader v5.0 or higher
is required to use the manual. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free download available at www.adobe.com.
NOTE: It is recommended to copy the memos and user manual to the Help folder located in the program directory.
