2 Selection of installation positions for indoor unit

To be installed towards the top of the room to ensure highest temperature air is
returned to the indoor unit (optimising efficiency)
To be installed at the position where the air delivered from the unit can reach every
corner of the room
To avoid bloc!age to the air inlet or outlet of the unit
"ot to install on top of electronic e#uipment due to ris! of lea!age of condensed
water in the case of drain pipe bloc!age
$n the case of modular redundant system installation (i%e% more than 1 unit installed) &
care ta!en to ensure that all units will be more or less e#ually e'posed to the heat
sources and able to direct their airflow to the telecom e#uipment inlets%
2.1 Ensure sufcient space for installation and maintenance.

To allow ease of maintenance and optimum performance( it is recommended to


ensure enough space between the unit and the walls%
Attention: If there are some additional devices to install to the air conditioner (such as
the BCU) !e sure add to the installation s"ace for these devices#
2.2 Height limits of indoor and outdoor units.
$t is acceptable for the indoor unit to be located above or below the outdoor unit up to a
ma'imum of )m (see below)%
Try to avoid bending the piping lines e'cessively so as to avoid possible negative impact
upon the performance of the units%

$nstall the outdoor unit in a position which can stand the load of the machine weight
and which will not cause e'cessive vibrations and noise
$nstall the unit in a well ventilated location not e'posed to rain or direct sunshine
+here the noises generated from the unit will not affect the neighboring places
,o not install the unit on a non-metal frame
,o not install the unit in places where there is ris! of e'posure to inflammable gases
Pay attention to the drainage of the condensed water from the base plate during
operation

Pipelines can be connected in the directions of (1)( (2)( (3)( (*)( and
()) as indicated in Fig%1% +hen the pipelines are connected in the
directions of (3)( (*) and ())( a groove for the pipes has to be
opened at the proper place on the base stand%

Fi' the wall-mounting plate firmly on the wall with screws% /a!e
sure of the leveling of the plate% . slanted wall-mounting plate
might 0eopardise the smooth discharge of the condensed water%

$nstall the refrigerant pipelines of the indoor unit in accordance with
the direction of the wall holes% Tightly wrap the drain pipe and the
refrigerant pipelines with tape% /a!e sure that the drain pipe is
underneath the refrigerant pipelines% (Fig%3) (+hen the drain pipe
passes the room interior( some condensed water might occur to its
surfaces if the humidity is very high)%
*# Installation of indoor unit
Pass the connection wires( connecting pipelines and drain pipe
through the wall hole% 5ang the indoor unit on the hoo!s at the top of
the wall-mounting plate so that the hoo!s at the bottom of the indoor
unit match the hoo!s of the wall-mounting plate% (Fig%*)

be ta!en when using hoisting cables to lift it up
,uring shipping( the outdoor unit must not be slanted to over *) degrees (,o not store
the unit in a hori6ontal orientation)%

7se bolts and nuts to fi' the outdoor unit firmly on the supports and ensure the unit is

$f the unit is installed on the wall or at the rooftop( the supports have to be firmly fi'ed so
as to resist earth#ua!e or strong wind%

"o dust( foreign articles( air or moisture should be allowed to enter the air conditioning
system% 4areful attention should be paid when pipeline connection for outdoor unit is
made% Try to avoid repeated curves as much as possible( otherwise hardening or crac!s
might be caused to the copper pipes% :uitable wrenches should be used when the
pipeline connection is done so as to ensure appropriate tor#ue (refer to following tor#ue
Table 1)% 8'cessive tor#ue might damage the 0oints( while too little tor#ue might lead to
lea!age%
Air "ur&in& $ith vacuum "um"
1% 4hec! that li#uid and gas pipeline connections have
been properly connected( remove the charging port
cap( and connect the manifold gauge and the vacuum
pump to the charging valve by service hoses as shown
Fig%1%
2% ;pen the valve of the low pressure side of manifold
gauge( then( run the vacuum pump% <acuum the indoor
unit and the connecting pipes until the pressure in them
reduces to below 1%)mm5= (The operation time for
vacuuming is about 10 minutes)% +hen the desired
vacuum is reached( close the low pressure valve of the
manifold gauge and stop the vacuum pump%
3% ,isconnect the service hoses and fit the cap to the
charging valve%
*% >emove the blan! caps( and fully open the spindles of
the 2-way and 3-ways valves with a service valve
wrench%
)% Tighten the blan! caps of the 2-way and 3-ways valves(
applying the above tor#ue (Table 1)

The Eus is a communication and power bus by which the airconditioning units
share information with each other and with au'iliary units (such as the 4entral 4ontrol 7nit)%
The Eus is hot-pluggable and auto-configuring( allowing units to be safely added to a live
system%
. Eus cable consists of a flat 1 way cable (21.+=) with ?p?c >F*) connectors on either
end% :tandard length Eus cables are provided together with the system( but
non-standard length cables can be constructed if re#uired% :ee diagram below%
Note: the ma/imum len&th of a sin&le Bus ca!le is 0m and the ma/imum total

unless such items are shown to be defective when the product was first purchased by the owner%
d) does not cover any damage to paintwor!( metalwor!( or finished trims of the product caused by
weathering( atmospheric fallout( hail( salt( or other corrosive residue%
'# +he Warrant. $ill not a""l. if:
a) the product is damaged by the use of an accessory not supplied by 4oolsure Btd%
b) the product is installed by a person other than 4oolsure BtdNs certified installer2repairer%
c) the product case is opened by a person other than 4oolsure BtdNs certified installer2repairer%
d) the product is damaged by a failure to chec! and clear obstructions in both indoor and outdoor
sections of the product( including the air filters( vents( coils and drainage pipes%
e) the product is re-installed during the period of the +arranty at any location other than the original
location%
)# Under the Warrant.:
a) faulty parts covered by the +arranty will be repaired( or replaced at 4oolsure BtdNs discretion( by
4oolsure Btd or a 4oolsure Btd recognised repairer( upon return to 4oolsure Btd or 4oolsure BtdNs
recognised repair agent%
b) the owner is responsible for all transport costs and intransit insurance costs if the product or part has
to be returned for repair to 4oolsure BtdNs or 4oolsure BtdNs recognised repair agent% +henever
possible( the product should be returned in its original carton and pac!ing or alternatively in pac!ing
suitable to prevent damage to the product% 4oolsure Btd will not accept responsibility for damage to the
product caused by unsuitable or inade#uate pac!ing%
c) the owner is responsible for all travelling( labour and transport costs if the owner re#uests any repair
to be performed on site%
d) the owner is at all times responsible for the repair of defects caused by accidental or intentional
damage( improper voltage( fire( misuse( abuse( neglect( alterations by or negligence of the owner(
incorrect or incomplete installation or operation by the owner( .cts of =od( vermin or foreign matter
entering the product( e%g% dirt and moisture% >efer to the ;wnerNs $nstruction /anual for operation and
other information%
*# <or re"air of the "roduct under the Warrant.:
a) 4oolsure Btd should be contacted within thirty (30) days of the fault developing( via email( telephone
or postal address shown at the last page of this manual
b) 4oolsure Btd shall allocate a >epair >eference number and advise how the repair shall be processed
(e%g% faulty part returned for repair( new replacement part supplied( etc)%
c) the +arranty with the original purchase documents must be presented to 4oolsure BtdNs recognised
distributor or repairer or the recognised distributorNs repair agent on re#uest%
3# =imitations of Warrant.:
a) The warranty shall not cover any conse#uential or resulting liability( damage or loss to property or life
arising directly or indirectly out of any defect in the product
b) 4oolsure BtdNs obligation under the warranty shall be limited to repair or providing replacement of
defective parts only under the warranty period%
c) 7nder no circumstances shall 4oolsure BtdNs obligation e'ceed that of the purchase price of the
product%
d) $n case of any dispute( the 4oolsure Btd reserves the right for final 0udgement and decision%
