Coverage Counters and Parameters

Test Case ID: RU10_

Feature Summary:
RAN1630: Coverage Counters and Parameters

Received Total Wideband Power (RTWP), Ptx Total and Tx Code Power
distribution counters are introduced.
The following new counters are added to Cell Resource measurement:
- Class 1 RTWP, Class 2 RTWP, ..., Class 22 RTWP
- Class 1 Ptx Total, Class 2 Ptx Total, ..., Class 10 Ptx Total
- Class 1 Tx Code Power, Class 2 Tx Code Power, ..., Class 10 Tx Code Power.
The distribution bins are adjustable. There is one parameter for each counter
category for selecting the range of bins from the predefined sets.

Setup and prerequisites:
Test environment
RNC
WCDMA BTS
Feature activation:
This feature is automatically in use.

Counters:
M1000C320 - M1000C341 RECEIVED TOTAL WIDEBAND POWER CLASS 0 - 21
M1000C342 - M1000C352 TRANSMITTED CARRIER POWER CLASS 0 10
M1000C353 - M1000C362 TRANSMITTED CODE POWER CLASS 0 - 9

Test execution:
Case1: Received Total Wideband Power counters
1. Open the RNW Measurement Management application in the RNC Element
Manager, or open the Administration of Measurements application in NetAct.
2. Activate the M1000 cell resources measurements.
3. Make HSDPA FTP upload
4. Observe situation from Cell Load Monitor GUI (Online)
5. Specially, PrxTotal values and those results can be compared with M1000
counters.
6. After the measurement data has been collected, open the RNW
Measurement Presentation application.
7. Check that the counters M1000C320-M1000C341 have been updated,
Table1.

Case 2: Transmitted Carrier Power counters
1. Open the RNW Measurement Management application in the RNC Element
Manager, or open the Administration of Measurements application in NetAct.
2. Set RNC/WCEL/General PRACH Propagation Delay Statistics Cell Range
parameter value for WCEL1 to 5 km.
3. Wait until the measurement collection starts, and then make a HSDPA PS
FTP download.
4. Repeat steps 2- 4 with cell range 20 km and 180 km.
5. After the measurement data has been collected, open the RNW
Measurement Presentation application.
6. Check that the counters M1000C342-M1000C352 have been updated,
Table2.

Case3: Transmitted Code Power counters
1. Open the RNW Measurement Management application in the RNC Element
Manager, or open the Administration of Measurements application in NetAct.
2. Set RNC/WCEL/General PRACH Propagation Delay Statistics Cell Range
parameter value for WCEL1 to cell range 5 km.
3. Activate the M1000 cell recource measurements.
4. Wait until the measurement collection starts, and then make a Rel99 PS Data
call. FTP GET 384 kbps (Not HSDPA call)
5. Repeat steps 2- 4 with cell range 20 km and 180 km.
6. After the measurement data has been collected, open the RNW
Measurement Presentation application.
7. Check that the counters M1000C353-M1000C362 have been updated,
Table3.

Expected Results:
The relevant counters are updated correctly.
