1) Business Support/Admin & Control Assurance - Administration Assistant at BE rank (HC

Conversion)
The temp staff, Christy’s contract has already been finished on November 17, 2009. She is performing
both receptionist and administration assistant role. Handle daily phone enquiries, greeting visitors,
manage daily LC trade & credit application documentation transactions, administrative reports,
maintenance of office equipments and prepare business expense claim for 150+ RMs. This temporary
headcount was previously a permanent headcount (turned to be a temporary headcount since mid-2007
to enlarge business flexibility), in view of the business need we would propose to revert this temporary
headcount to permanent headcount for the continuity of the position.

2) Business Support/Admin & Control Assurance - Office Assistant at Non-clerical rank
(Replacement)
Janet has resigned effective Oct 24. In order to maintain the service and quality support to the EB
offices and sustain manpower of Admin team as well as the business need, would suggest to recruit a
replacement. The headcount was previously a permanent headcount which has been converted to
contracted headcount since mid-2007 for enlarging the business flexibility. With two years’
experiences, we would propose to revert this contracted headcount to permanent headcount in order to
have stronger staff commitment without much staff cost impact.

Perry Chan has resigned effective Oct 24. He is managing a portfolio of 110 accounts of loan balance
$400M and deposit balance of $21M and 20 non-borrowing customers with annual revenue of HK9M.
The replacement is required to take up Perry’s portfolio and also to handle the borrowing accounts to be

view of the heavy loading in the EBC, a replacement is needed.

working on the portfolio re-alignment that around 30,000 non-borrowing customers and hundreds of
small borrowing customers will be transferred to IBG4 from IBG3 by the end of 2009. Therefore, more
mass marketing initiatives will be needed in order to fully explore the potential of these customers and

A requisition received from IBG3 HK District for 5 new headcount. The position is mainly responsible for
the data input of GCS system and/or QCA worksheets which form part of the credit applications but
such data input is quite manual and time consuming because of the system constraints. With the
creation of the above position, such manual & time consuming works can be released from the RMs
who can spend more time on marketing activities and business generation for both existing & new
clients. Improvement on revenue generation & customer service is thus expected with the creation of
the above position that fits into the Bank’s current strategy. The split of 5 new headcount is IBG2 – 1,
